Smith Debate Society!! This weekend we went to a novice debate tournament at Boston University!!! If you didn't know, the schools around the East coast who participate in debate are part of a larger organization called APDA. This means that there is an actual league and that we get to debate against schools like Harvard, Yale, Brown, Columbia, Tufts, Brandeis, Wesleyan, and more! Here's how it went: On Friday, we left at 11:30 to board a Peter Pan bus to Boston and arrived around 3 or 4 o'clock. Had two debate rounds on Friday and after some satisfying insomnia cookies, went to sleep in a BU student's dorm. The next day, we had two more rounds and we returned to Smith in the afternoon. We met a lot of cool people from other schools and one of the best things is is that Smith will reimburse us for our traveling costs! I would really recommend checking us out if you come to Smith!
