Current water level is @ 514.8’ ASL. We are above normal level for this time of year (Summer full pool is 510’ ASL), due to recent rain and normal watershed. Thankfully the forecast shows several sunny days ahead for a period of drying out before next week’s busy spring break. Be sure to keep watch on your docks, dock cables, dock electrical connections and shoreline areas during water level changes. APC generator schedule is operating as stated on apcshorelines.com & the SmartLakesApp - please follow those preferred sources carefully. We should be closer to a normal level soon. 📷 @apcshorelines Reminder: At Smith Lake, it is common for the water level to rise quickly due to rain and runoff. If the ground is saturated, it can rise steadily to nearly a foot for every inch of rain within a short time after the rain event due to natural runoff more immediately contributing to the reservoir. Just remember to stay weather aware and watch water levels for your particular shoreline area. Always be very careful when adjusting tight dock cables and inspecting electrical connections. If you ever have any portion of your dock submerged (like a walkway, etc.), cut the electricity to your dock completely off for safety until the water level recedes. Obtain professional help if you are unsure how to proceed. Also, be watchful of debris in the water when boating during these times.
