Feeling sorry for the jellyfish constantly swimming toward the shore. I turned a few around with a stick. #jellyfish #smithslake (at Smiths Lake) https://www.instagram.com/p/BtXaeadgJ_g/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=10sxp4pk1v41
During my year on exchange with UNSW I was lucky enough to go on two marine biology field trips. This field trip was for a module studying marine biology from oceans to estuaries. Groups were assigned projects, and mine conducted a small study investigating the effects of marine park zoning on an intermittently open and closed lake ecosystem. We found no significant differences in biomass, biodiversity or abundance temporally or spatially across zones within the system.
A map of the zoning at Smiths Lake, NSW, Australia with pin points indicating sample sites.
