Day 3, part 1. Mount Vernon and Smithsonian castle
Castle in the Window
April 30, 2023
Washington, DC
The Smithsonian Castle is closed for renovations. I'm so upset I literally just wanted to see the tintypes of my little meow meows Grant and McClellan <\\\3
6.14.19 ➡️ I haven’t mentioned it on here as I never use my tumblr, but I’ve been interning at the Smithsonian this summer and it’s been an amazing experience. These are some photos from my morning walk through the Ripley Garden (shoutout to the Good Birb who posed for a mini photoshoot in the third photo). I usually never go through the garden, but one of the perks of my internship is that we get to go to Smithsonian-employee-only events, so I was able to go to an open house of the new Deep Time exhibit (the dinosaur hall of the Natural History Museum that re-opened last weekend after five years) before it opened to the public this morning. I’ll post my photos later today in a much longer post!
Here’s a couple pictures of the cherry blossoms in DC while I was there over Spring break.
