Bruce Russell A practitioner in sound, who since 1987 has been a member of the Dead C. This legendary genre-dissolving New Zealand trio, mixes rock, electro-acoustics, noise and improvisation in equal measures. He has also directed two of New Zealand’s vanguard labels, Xpressway and Corpus Hermeticum. His solo guitar practice reconfigures the blues as a form of improvisational auto-destruction – not for nothing has he been described as ‘the Jimi Hendrix of no-technique’. He is also a noted rock critic and published author.
