Myos was just stopping by in Axel world, it’s been a long time since she seen anyone really and she wanted to see her favorite skele-boy. As she walked she heard footsteps then next thing she knew her cheeks were getting squished by cold hands. She looked up to see Axel-- her face instantly turned red. She giggled nervously a bit before nudging her face into his hands. She looked-- different. She had long brown hair going down to her waist, wearing the purple robe of the CARETAKER.
“I kind of-- went off the radar as you can say. Did I worry you~?” she said with her face still getting squished and that teasing voice.
Flowey’s expression is pinched and very closed up for a moment.
“I... didn’t actually think about that.” He mumbled as Axel tells him how he tries to distract himself.
“All I can tell you is that an empty place without people that you know like the back of your hand is NOT a good distraction!” He hates how panicked and scared he sounds, almost shrill, but it doesn’t seem like he can control that.
“Axel... can we NOT... talk about knives... please.” He presses out the last word on a breath, the tone of his voice definitely desperate now as the pictures just... don’t go away. He doesn’t want to watch this mauling over and over.
The other ones words startle him for a moment and his first reaction to being picked up is ALMOST lashing out... until he realizes how... relieving it feels.
It’s weird that something like a firm body, even a warm body against him is causing something like calmness. He is floating on this weird train of thought for a moment, before he does something that Axel probably doesn’t expect and curls two vines, that he has summoned from his roots around both of Axel’s wrists and just pets them lightly.
“You’re such an idiot.” He mumbles, but there is no venom in his voice, just bone-deep tiredness and some kind of fondness even further down.
“Why would you think that I don’t care, you.... pile of old bone.” He sighed lowly. “Of course I care... I wouldn’t come here to talk, if I didn’t.”
His two vines gripped the other ones wrists firmly, but not hard enough to hurt.
“This shit never gets easier... and it never goes away... but it is... comforting to know, that I have an anchor. Like... I have you. So, I am not alone and... not everything doesn’t matter. SOMETHING matters, okay. And that is... MORE than I can say I have felt for a long time.”
* The SAVE file seems to be corrupted, it may be unplayable. Would you like to continue?
> [ Yes ] [ No ]
They paused as they stared at the dialogue box in front of them.
* How curious.
It was a strange thing to see. Slightly unsettling, if they had wanted to be honest but the fallen eighth had other things to worry about. It’s not often and they keep saying they should stop doing this... Yet there are still things incomplete. There is still so much to be done and they’re needed.
They’re not a child anymore. They won’t just reload a SAVE file just because they got a bad grade or lost a friend. Yet where does the line stand when it’s losing ones life before it really should be lost? What would monsterkind do when their human ambassador has had an untimely death? So they let their hand press on the [ Yes ] option, hearing the familiar bink sound. The void around them begins to disappear yet they watch as it begins to glitch and a horrible electronic screeching fills their ears, forcing them to shut their eyes and press their palms to their ears.
It’s then they feel themselves slipping away, as if they had passed out. Frisk opens their eyes then immediately shields them with a raised arm as they hear the soft crunching of flowers below them while pushing themselves up.
Wait... Flowers?
They look down quickly to find the familiar bed of yellow flowers. They jumped up, only to wince at the onset of dizziness and pain that usually accompanied when they reloaded after a death. It’s temporary though as they stare in horror and running out to the dark room into the next with a patch of green under another sunspot. The ruins entrance in front of them as this is where they normally would meet Flowey.
Had they RESET? No, they’re very much sure they just reloaded a SAVE file! Flowey hadn’t popped up either... He normally did. They frowned and ran forward through the ruins, noticing it was empty. This was good, right? This meant maybe they just somehow got thrown Underground... Monsters had to have been freed...
Yet they couldn’t shake this eerie feeling creeping up on them. Something felt wrong, but they weren’t sure of what. They make their way through the ruins, listening as the heavy doors creaked and groaned as they pushed it open and into the area of Snowdin. They were bound to find some monsters there or if not Waterfall...
They crossed their arms to hug themselves as they power walked over to the bridge while their breaths freeze in the air all while keeping an eye out for anyone...
