#I can tell this au would be filled with angst #liKE MAYBE A TRAGIC ENDING FOR IWA #or even oikawa #'ur not a king yet' tooru is tryna take his rightful place on the throne after his kingdom was conquered and he's been tryna get it back #his whole life and for most of the journey iwa is the only person who's ever rly been there for him and has helped defend him #and they go on this long adventure that takes months and they're in all these battles and obvs get hurt from time to time but it's never #life-threatening until they get to the Final Battle and maybe unbeknownst to oi iwa has to sacrifice himself so oi can 'get the crown' #or something or after the battle is won and oi is getting crowned or the kingdom is finally rebuilding itself someone assassinates oi :') #a new ruler steps up and builds the kingdom in oi's image and asks iwa to stay on as a royal guard or stay behind scenes in politics but iwa #can't look at anything in the castle without being reminded of oi so he does off on another adventure #and either lives his life to the fullest exploring bc maybe it was something oi wanted/loved to do orrr he ends up dying from a broken heart #¯\_(ツ)_/¯
