Rain and blood and spiderwebs. Everything’s gray around the edges, all the world fading into monochrome. His gloves are wet. It’s too dark to tell if it’s mud on the cloth, or blood. Sapphire shakes his head. “Bullshit.”

“You have to,” Ruby says again. There’s a smear down his cheek, granite, crackling. “You only have a few minutes.”

“I’m not doing it.”

“I’ll be stone if you don’t. No coming back from stone.”

“We’ll fix it.”

“Can’t.”

“We will.”

“We can’t.” His tongue scrapes like rock. “White’s the only one who can undo his working.”

“I’ll make him.”

“Like he’ll listen.”

“I won’t be stone.” Ruby shakes his head, and reaches out. Sapphire leaps away. “Either I suffocate or you take me out first and I know which I would prefer.”

“Fuck you, no.”

“Sapphire,” he says, and Sapphire shuts his eyes, because his stupid face and his stupid mouth and the way there’s stone creeping like rust up his neck. “Please.”

They both take off the glove.

for some reason i just really wanted to draw Sun and Star in sweaters. so Sun`s wearing Star`s and Star`s is wearing Sun`s *shrugs* it came out cuter than it was in my head, an Sun`s hair is really fluff here
