       things maureen’s apparently FORGOTTEN about living on a planet: weather and seasons are things. in her defense, she’d also lived in california for years before leaving for alpha centauri, but she also had grown up in the midwest so... really, she has no excuse. her arms are crossed tight across her chest as she and don are making THE LONG TREK back from the solidarity. another thing to remember: don’t walk places when you’re going to be coming back at night. she’s just about to see what she can use for a makeshift heat pack when she feels cloth drape around her shoulders. blinking once then twice, she turns to look at don, STARING at his coat and then back at him. it’s such a gentle, chivalrous gesture, it catches her off guard. ❝ thanks, ❞ she murmurs, the smile on her face warm and genuine. ❝ are you sure ? aren’t YOU going to get cold ? ❞

it’s     a     semantic     difference ,     of     course ,     and     probably     not     the     right     part     of     the     sentiment     to     focus     on     ──     not     something     that     matters     in     the     long     run ,     not     REALLY ,     but     she     selfishly     wants     to     hear     him     say     it .     wants     to     hear     him     say     that     their     time     together     has     bonded     them     in     some     way .

It had been a long night with no adventure for the thane, so when he sees a large object whiz over him and crash eyes widen and excitement stirs. Even though the potential danger this object could have, his good nature urges him to investigate, to see if anyone was hurt by the impact. He urges his horse to move swiftly towards the crash sight.

What he finds upon arrival is a strange ship he knows he’s never seen before anywhere on Nirn. He dismounts his horse with swords drawn, approaching the ship on foot. ❝ Hello? ❞ he calls out, ❝ Does anyone require assistance? ❞
