«  YEAH,  ‘m just cold.  »    a little whine scrapes against his throat,  not that he would ever admit that he is whining but  ——  he is,  sort of.  space’s cold and Han can’t sleep with his feet about to turn into ice cubes,  alright  ?  so of course he goes and sneaks in Chewie’s bunk,  which is bigger than his own and well,  much warmer.  he’s also feeling a bit lonely,  but he pushes that thought away,  right where it came from.  «  actually,  do you mind if I  ——   »    he vaguely gestures between them, signaling his intention to get a bit closer.    «  I’m freezing.  »

Her arms went around him, holding on to him tight as she pressed her cheek into his warm fur. She believed him. They will be alright. “We’re going to get him back Chewie. I promise we’re going to get him back. We’re not leaving Han to Jabba.”

my head hurting has really just killed my motivation.  i just want to 

i stopped writing that sentence to watch a video on youtube and got so distracted that i have no idea where i was going with that. that’s how fuzzy my brain is tonight.

It honestly should make her panic. Onto her? Coming from Chewbacca it could really only mean one thing. Her dark eyes went wide as she looked up at him. We’re on to you. Did that mean Han was too? Her heart started to pick up in her chest. She tried ... so hard ... to make it seem like she wasn’t interested in him. He told her over, and over again he was leaving. He wasn’t in this fight for the rebellion, or her. So she tried so hard, so hard to keep her distance. 

Leia swallowed, tilting her chin up as she tried to ignore the pounding of her heart. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she said, holding the cold princess airs for almost a second before they crumbled around her. Her dark brown eyes on his face, “Han too? I don’t... I don’t ... he ... you guys are going to leave. There’s no point in anything I feel for him.”

Something’s not right.  Luke doesn’t know the first thing about Wookiee biology but he knows Chewie and he isn’t acting like himself.  Hyperspeed calculations were nothing to him; but he was struggling-- and asking Luke to check his work so they didn’t all end up inside of a planet instead of safely next to it. 

He sits in the seat behind Chewie, leaning over the big Wookiee’s shoulder to check the calculations.  It looks good.  He double checks.  It still looks good.  And -- perhaps more importantly for Luke -- it feels right.  Whatever the result of this jump to hyperspace; it was what the Force wanted. 

“Looks good,” He said, touching Chewie’s shoulder.  Did he always feel this warm or was it just his heavy fur?  “Are you okay? Chewie?   Is something wrong?”
