I think you should change your thesis to being about gay smut… and the science of that. Just a thought
u r so right im scrapping the whole thing rn and starting over
no tbh that’d be so fascinating. just the other day i was having a talk with @pagegirlintraining and @skibasyndrome about the importance of more freaky smut, even if it’s rare it’s so important for the rest of the ecosystem! like if people see gangbang non-con tentacle whatever the fuck smut being posted, maybe they’ll feel more confident posting their own “tamer” smut (whatever that means). and like listen. i’m a community ecologist, right? and i study ecosystem stability whatever blah blah blah. but in ecosystems you need foundational species, which are species that are super common and are everywhere and support the whole ecosystem in many different ways— let’s call this our run-of-the-mill smut, a crowd pleaser. BUT ecosystems also need keystone species, which are more rare but have a profound effect on the ecosystem! this is your crazier dead-dove maybe-not-for-everyone smut. and then you’ve got everything in between. it’s all important for the health and stability of archive of our own dot org! this also doesn’t even necessarily only apply to smut but this was the discussion we were having so
yeah basically i probably could write a whole masters tying community ecology theory to … fanfic smut theory
