In the distant future, Humanity has mastered space travel and joined the intergalactic community run by an alliance known as the Galactic Board for Interplanetary Peace. While none of the GBIP species have their own military, there is still a need for a peacekeeping force. Thus, the Arbiters were created.
You have just joined the Arbiter ranks—whether you wanted to or not. This prestigious position comes with a fair amount of perks, including your own ship and crew. However, it’s also the most dangerous job in the galaxy. When a small colony faces an attack from an unknown source, you’re sent to investigate. What you uncover reveals a danger far greater—and far closer to home—than you could have ever expected.
working on a better outline for chapter one and i thought i'd show a quick example of what i mean when i say "failure may be just as fun as succeeding!"
"failing" a check just means you failed to do what you were trying to do—not that you necessarily failed in general, if that makes sense. that doesn't mean it'll always have a positive outcome, but in this case it does!!
i guess supernova business first, and then some personal updates for those who are interested
sn:r's demo is almost completely ported to twine!!! right now i'm just going through and adding the last of the personality/skill increases, then it's just a matter of making sure everything is working properly!!
i want to give a heads up that the game is in a very rough state right now in terms of UI and appearance. those pretty preview pictures i posted a while ago? yeah, it looks nothing like that right now, and it probably won't until the final full release. i just want to focus on writing it, then i'll worry about making it look pretty.
so, tldr, the sn:r demo will release on twine (hopefully) soon!!
now, for personal matters:
my fiancee and i are buying a house!! we're closing tomorrow, so that's when it'll be offical-official. obviously it's been a lot to process and get through, but we're almost at the end!!
and speaking of exciting purchases—i bought my wedding dress!! this was absolutely the worst time for me to buy it, but when i set up the appointment at the boutique i wasn't expecting us to uhhhh buy a house. so.
finally, i have my first professional writing gig!! i can't tell you how beyond ecstatic i am. i've never been paid for my writing before, so this feels like a huge milestone. i don't know how much i can talk about it—i haven't signed my NDA yet lmao—but i'm going to be a beta reader and backup writer for an indie game!!
if you've read this far, thank you and i love you. your continued support truly means everything to me. i can't wait to delve back into the supernova universe with you all!!
