Was excited earlier to see the game launcher downloading a new snapshot update, thinking it might be the goats, or the lush caves this time. But... no.
I did not receive the prompt to backup my 2nd world, Exploratoria, and went ahead, thinking if the prompt didn’t come up, nothing really bad could happen. Only, when the world loaded, all of the copper and amethyst-related blocks are gone. From my ‘warehouse’ roof. From my shulker boxes. Even my goddamn spyglass, which uses pieces from both. They’re just all gone. Bundles are gone, as well, which hurts my mining technique more than I expected. There’s no “exit without saving” option, so I saved without touching anything missing; just put some extra wood stuff away into storage, and quit to title. WTF, man. Better not have fucked up my mesa “mining office” dig-out, as that’s one of the favorite bases I’ve yet made.
Started a third world: Fuckity, after a common expletive from the Brutally Honest comics. Aptly named. Took like four game days to find the first hint of iron. No iron > no shears > no wool (without killing the sheep, and there’s no need when you don’t need to eat in peaceful mode and you can just shear them) > no bed > NO SLEEPING TO PASS THE NIGHT. Thank goodness this world is peaceful mode, so there’s no attack from... phantoms...? when you haven’t slept for three nights. Almost thought iron had been deleted along with copper, by accident, but thankfully not.
And that’s when I remembered that I turned cheats on at set-up, and could’ve just given myself netherite starter tools. Well... Fuckity.
Made a giant-ish dark oak tree ‘house’ that I spent one (1) night in, then found an island that’s kind of the hub between the dark forest, sunflower plains, a taiga, an ocean, and a normal oak/birch forest. Wood out the ass, which is great. Made a small-as-it-can-get hobbit hole out of it. The sunflower plains have a small village, which I stole got starters for all of my vegetables from (found pumpkin and melon seeds the next day, in a mineshaft chest.) The village had an empty animal pen, with hay bales stacked inside and out. The plains had a pink and a brown sheep, the two colors I see least. Stole a hay bale, led the brown sheep into the pen. Wolf came up outside the pen, looking disappointed at the fence keeping him from a mutton lunch. Success!
Only, I realized the sheep could likely climb the bales and escape, so I took those down before its two brain cells could fire and figure that out. Now success.
Haha, no. FUCKING WOLF CLIMBED THE BALES FROM OUTSIDE, GOT INTO THE PEN, AND ATE MY FUCKING BROWN SHEEP. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. SHAMELESS. Left me one fucking last block of brown wool, to remember the crime by.
I took every last goddamn hay bale in town, stacked them in one place FAR from any animal pens, and did manage to get the pink sheep to safety. It is multiplying as we speak. Just... fucking wolf. They just know I can’t bring myself to hurt a dog, even a digital one. Fuckers keep eating my wild sheep. Eat the gd pigs that are essentially useless in my game, without any hunger needs. Eat the cows and leave me the leather! I’d encourage that!
