I'm looking for a fic I read a while ago on AO3. Modern AU, non-powered. Charles gets a job at a coffee shop to get away from his mom/step-father, and Erik is the scary regular who takes a liking to him. I think Erik was a author of historical fiction or something? They totally fall for each other. Erik's super protective, especially when he realises that Kurt's abusive. Emma, Sean, etc... all work at the coffee shop as well. Thanks!

Author: snaxo Pairing: Charles/Erik Rating: PG-13 Genre: Humour/Romance Warnings: Length: 16k Summary: Charles sends a text to the wrong number. Submitted by: abcd Submitter’s Comment: Serendipity is the classic feel good get together fic, but done in a way where you’ll just want to read it forever. It’s super sweet and fluffy and the characters are perfectly adorable (except when Erik’s a dickhead). A lot of wonderful banter and flirting that’ll have you smiling like a moron at your device as you read.

The fic IS written mostly as text messages and phone calls (the first six chapters), and while I thought that would be off-putting, it just adds to the story and makes it all the more amazing. The author has included times of the texts, and I think it’s important to pay attention to them as it helps you visualise both Charles and Erik on either end of the phone. The little details in this fic add to the conversations of the characters, as you can imagine Charles and Erik hesitating with their replies.

This is a definite read for anyone who enjoys modern, human, wrong number or online AUs, (or everyone, really).
