the fields were calm today, warm with a nice breeze but that wasn’t the main factor of the day, rather the celebration would adorn the day with a brilliance few days get to boast so I sat waiting for the cowboy to show, eventually my ears perked as I heard the song made by paws hitting the floor so I waited until I could nip at you as to which I managed to drag you in with me, by that time you had already allowed that defeat since it wasn’t like you could do much against a determined mare afterall and now I drag you past the daises towards the bushier grass, dropping you gently on the field before pushing down till my fetlocks hit the floor and I felt my hocks join them not too long, I watched as you scrambled up off those paws to actually sit before staring down at the messy blanket with a few berries scattered around before pointing to me “Is this your version of a picnic?” I blew back at you, a small shake of my nose as I felt the grass get too close to my nostrils for comfort as I got more comfortable with the way I planted myself on the ground, I let you use me as furniture out of my own generosity and also the fact I didn’t really feel bothered enough to chase you around the field today, I plucked the hat off your head then laid my head on your lap as you gathered what I had scavenged to eat while commenting “They’re going to so laugh at this.” I returned a snort in response, my ears flicking back while I tugged on your tail as I glanced up since I couldn’t be bothered to correct that “They’re going to laugh at you, cowboy.” But I knew you’d already tell that considering my smugness, you didn’t complain so I just watched as you ate then I tugged you down by the collar for a cuddle as we sat in the calmness of the paddock and I knew that even if it was your day, I’d remember this for a while. The sun seemed to know that too since it graced us with a orange view while we sat together, breathing in sync as we just communicated by thought instead of word, we both knew that yeah a werewolf with his mare looked ridiculous but we were happy with that. We were happy just being, that was enough for me and I could tell it was enough for you too, cowboy.
