excessive spying, peeking and prying
Cats can be jerks. One of mine likes to walk on my stomach when I am nauseous. It would serve her right if I threw up on her, but so far she has been lucky.
I am her favorite person. I call her my followers. She annoys me at the computer. Before our last wifi died, she turned it off. Her nickname is Naughty Girl.
Her sister also bothers me. They are not allowed in the bedroom. When we let them sleep with us, they would have cat battles in the middle of the night. Naughty Girl liked to hide under the bed, wait for me to nod off, then jump on top of me.
The other one waits at the door every morning, trying to get in. When she does, she runs under the bed. I call this one Sneaky.
Yes, cats can be jerks. But I like having these two around.
Naughty Girl = Tallahassee
Sneaky = Aphrodite

What if - cats LOVE cat Witchers?
I’ve seen comments and stories where cats don’t like Witchers.
But - What if they REALLY like Cat Witchers?
Cat school Witcher sits in a tavern or at a banquet or in an Alderman’s house negotiating a contract, and sooner or later there’s a cat in their lap (or on their shoulder... or head) purring. Smugly.
When did it get there? No one knows.
Whenever they stay in an inn or sometimes when they camp outside of town, they’ll wake up with a cat or two (sometimes three) curled up contentedly asleep on them. It’s ... nice.
Cats don’t run away with them, just see them as welcome visitors. Maybe they recognize the cat DNA sorcerers used in the mutagens. Maybe they just feel somehow familiar. Sometimes a stray will follow them around a town for a while, meowing for food or petting though, and sometimes gets it. Who am I kidding? ALWAYS gets it.
The first time Aiden goes to Kaer Morhen for the winter, he’s completely unfazed when a cat plops down on his lap in front of the fire. The Wolves are all “WTF? Where’d a cat come from?” Shrug “I guess it lives here.” “We don’t have any cats!” “Do you have a problem with mice?” “Noooo?” “Then you have cats.” “What? No we don’t!” Gestures to lap-cat calmly as evidence.
Cats have always lived in Kaer Morhen. They’re just really quiet. The only thing quieter than Witchers is cats. They don’t like wolf Witchers enough to show themselves, but a big empty keep means there’s plenty of cozy out of the way places to nest and lots of pests to hunt, no monsters or wild animals to hide from, and it’s much better than the cold outdoors in the mountains. (”If there were cats here, we’d have smelled them!” “Here, that scent? This one? That little noise?” “Hmm, that’s just how the keep always smells/sounds.” “That’s because they’ve always been here.”)
It’s not unusual all winter to find Aiden being used as furniture by a cat, or a few, any time he holds still long enough; half the time it’s another one no one has seen before.
Lambert’s not jealous.
I got these on Amazon a while ago, in like 10 different colors.
They make me happy.
eta: they still have them! With lots of diff animals too.
