Get a dog, they said, at least the dog won’t scratch your couch or eat your plants…or so they said. In reality? I ended up with the most cat-like miniature poodle. Yes, he scratches the couch, yes he still eat my plants. Yes. He wants to be held, at all costs; my mom jokingly held him upside down and his reaction? He was like: Yeah, this is fine! I’m being held! :) the most important thing is I’m held at all. Idc.
He does the ’cat sneak’ on any bird before lunging at them. He’s missed he’s technically supposed to be a water fowl RETRIEVING dog, not hunt the birds down himself, but he refuses to listen to reason.
He’s very well aware he’s a lapdog, however, and will take offense if he’s not immediately given lap access.
For unknown reasons he thinks he can jump off the back of the armchair.
I blame my mom’s cats, but in particular one of them, for teaching my dog how to cat.
I love my weird, crazy, trans-species son but I’m half wondering if this is the universe making up for a past, VERY dog-like cat, for which it needn’t have.
