In a trench near Quinn's and Courtney's Posts, this photo, IWM Q 13427, shows a sniperscope when the Marine and 1st Naval Brigades of the Royal Naval Division reinforced the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (Anzac). The Australians improvised these trench periscopes from Marine periscopes and looking-glasses sent ashore from transports.
