Final Screening last week for the 23rd #SanFranciscoSilentFilmFestival was #BusterKeaton in the self-directed #BattlingButler (#1926). He did it all scripted, development of character(s), & even cut his own film (editing) & the perfect stunts demanded by the comedic situations that made him famous. This #FilmPosterArt, created for this event by #JCGarrett, completes these entries. #PhysicalComedy, & his seeming lack of emoting, took the work of Buster Keaton to a new level of allowing the audience to be in on #ObservingAbsurdity. This more intimate method of working around mere slapstick gave his work the amazing freshness that it has for 21st Century Audiences throughout the world. His work was more like a ballet that gets beyond the chorus, embracing the charm that day-to-day foibles often brings our way. He made it funny. Supporting Cast = #SallyONeil, #SnitzEdwards, & #FrancesMacDonald. #Deadpan #AudienceEmpathy. Music 🎶 for this screening by #MontAltoMotionPictureOrchestra. Signed by Artist: #AutographsForTheAges (at Castro Theatre)
