Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine route, from the Toyama side. Absolutely ridiculous scenery, please give these photos a look in large size view for full effect. I highly recommend visiting in May or June when you can travel through the snow walls.

Great walls on the Roof of Japan. Every mid April, Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route in the Northern Japan Alps opens to allow the passage from Toyama Prefecture to Nagano Prefecture. Bounteous snow accumulated over the winter was plowed, creating 'Yuki-no-Otani' or the Snow Corridor.
