It snows, I shovel, and then the city plows and seals my driveway in with a two foot hard packed ice berm. Wash, rinse, repeat. Yup. Time to buy a snowblower. I’m so done with this.

This is still pleasant to watch. Sam is in the living room with his grandparents, playing with Play Doh, and I’m very cold and looking out the window at a tranquil forest scene and windswept snow. All this really needs is like. A space heater.
Flashback to the SNOWPOCALYPSE we had in PDX this year! Even though we call it that any time it snows, this storm really did shut things down! Chin-height snow sure got these boys HYPED!!!
My boss very sweetly moved a meeting from last Thursday to Monday because I was worried about driving down in the snow (I'm the only one that lives outside of the city, and my commute is an hour *without* traffic). Thursday morning ultimately wasn't as bad as expected, and I could have made it down and back without issue. Unfortunately now I have to make the drive tomorrow in the middle of a blizzard. 😒❄️
Snowpocalypse part 2, because why not!
SNOWPOCALYPSE!
It snowed a foot overnight, and it’s still coming down! This is unheard of for Portland. We panic when there’s an inch of snow.
Odi and I had to walk to the store to pick up my prescriptions (because I forgot to do it yesterday). Odi had a blast and I managed not to fall down.
not sure what y’alls weekend looks like, but the impending snowpocalypse has necessitated the postponement of my birthday celebrations, so if anyone wanted to have a hot chocolate night/wine night/hang out sesh sometime this weekend i’d be down

It’s currently blizzarding out, and I’m under strict orders to work from home. Sam is here, as is Kyle (though he has the week off), and all my in-laws, which is better than it first seemed because they’re out in the living room watching Frozen (Sam’s choice; thematic!) and playing a card game that Kyle bought that’s a cross between Mafia, Bullshit, and poker.
All of the offices for my company up and down the east coast are closed, which is nice. It means a low-stress, low pressure day. Most of the projects that I’d be working on are on pause, too, since nobody is going in to work today (the governor did not issue a travel ban or call for a state of emergency, but he did say, “if you can work from home, do it” which sucks for people who work retail but that’s Charlie Baker for you).
The snow itself is lovely thus far and is reminding me why I love living out here. I’ve got views of snowy woods from every window, and that’s wonderful. It’ll be interesting once the snow gets heavy--they were forecasting 3-4″ an hour last night--but right now, it’s peaceful and quiet and I’m enjoying the day.
