Holy wind chill, Batman! It’s going to feel like -55 degrees for some people around the country today! We hope everyone stays warm today! Please don’t leave your pets outside in these sub-zero temperatures. It’s not only dangerous, but it’s illegal! If you see a dog left outside, please call law enforcement or animal control. Limit time outdoors to just potty breaks. Yesterday, we got our first real thunderstorm of the year! Drewbert is aware of the thunder and listens out for it, but he doesn’t react or stress unless it’s a clattering/house-shaking boom. Then he’ll bork, because he’s a corgi and he’s telling that thunder to eff off! It was Mona’s first thunderstorm though, so I wanted to make sure her experience was a positive one. With fireworks and thunderstorms, I turn the house into a dance party and use loud EDM beats to mitigate the rumbling outside. I also give the dogs high value chews to work on, like bully sticks or cow ears. These preventative measures work well for us and keep our dogs below their threshold and stress free. I know others use thundershirts which has been helpful for them too! How do you keep your pups calm during storms? The trick to looking good is to get 18 hours of beauty rest. Not counting crate mats, I think we now have 7 (yes, SEVEN) dog beds scattered around the house for this one spoiled dog. This new bed from @cozycuddlerz got the seal of approval from Drewbert because he immediately plopped down in it and took a nap. He’s super picky about his beds too. He prefers beds that have soft cushioned sides so he can have some chin/head support for his giant noggin’. If he doesn’t have that, he’ll either use a toy as a pillow or scrunch up a flat bed into a pillow mound. #Drewbert #Snugbert #corgi
