DIM CANDLELIGHT MAKES HIS EYES GLEAM LIKE COINS ——   an almost unnaturally bright gold even in the gloom pallor of the tavern: two orbs, unaffected by the low light, drag over the form of the tiefling seated begrudgingly beside them. it’s not the first nor third nor even fifth time the pair have played this game of cat and dog, where the wolfish changeling has teased and provoked the other ( initially to the point of vexation, which later simmered to a resentful acceptance. )
