current obsession: so it goes
✢ – An awkward hug
✢ – An awkward hug
To say that Sylvain hadn’t thought things through was a vastunderstatement.
Which is unlike him, really, and also so very like him, because it had involved a pretty girl who had promised him a date if he couldreturn her books for her. Eager to play the part of the dashing hero, he hadn’tconsidered just how many books there actually were.
And so, his line of sight had been compromised. He couldn’ttruly be blamed for tripping on the last step, books flying out of his hands.Nor could he be blamed for falling straight into the arms of a passingEdelgard.
Lucky, he supposes. Many of his friends would have droppedhim, some intentionally.
“Gah, sorry about that!” he laughs, holding on to hershoulder as he rights himself, realising too late that his other hand hadlanded at her hip, blinking down at her as he becomes aware of the situation.
And because he’s Sylvain and not a normal person, hecan’t simply just brush himself off, apologise again and be on his way. No,instead he flashes her a grin and pulls her into a hug, which she doesn’treciprocate at all and makes the situation even more weird than before.
“Okay, good talk!” he says, patting her once upon theshoulder and stepping away to scoop up his books, hefting them into his armsand continuing on his way, chalking the whole experience up to just plainold weird that he’ll laugh about later.
