Taylor Swift, So It Goes...
only one song left from rep!
On one hand, Beatbreak is still PEAKbreak and I ain't gonna pretend like we're not back, but I do have a few thoughts I need to air about this current arc...
Okay so Part 1: Souji doesn't really do it for me. Like, he's fine? He gets the job done? His gimmick works well enough? It's just... he feels like that one IceDevimon from Frontiers who randomly breaks the flow of the Cherubimon fight - that sort of one-episode no-depth Digimon antagonist, if that makes sense? They're just a human here because that's how Beatbreak works. They don't really feel any deeper than the random GIFT MoTWs to me, which when you wanna build him up as the guy Kyo freaks out about you need to do a bit more of IMO. Part 2 is, of course, the fact it definitely feels a bit too quick? I appreciate the main plot speeding up, but it feels a bit over-correcty compared to how GIFT ended up faffing about with MoTWs. It sorta feels like... you know how when you're writing a fic, you have a cool scene you wanna hit, but you don't have a good flow from Point A to B? Yeah, that's what I've been feeling from the GIFT arc and into this arc. Kinda reminds me of the last arcs of Gundam X really... Well, as long as the ending's good, this part won't be seen that badly I feel!
