My Brief Note on the Nick Robinson Stuff: Please stop coddling men with substantial power (ESPECIALLY if that power is “just” a fandom primarily of young people) and considering them “soft” or “pure.” Lots of them will manipulate this image and use it to harass fans and people in the same circle with less of a following.
Trusting popular men to be soft and have your best interests in mind, especially as a young female fan, is dangerous and the best case scenario is that they leave you disappointed, worse case scenario is you’re victimized by them.
I still don’t know the full extent of what down because people are so fucking terrified of his influence that they’ve only vague-tweeted or immediately made their accounts private, which really just speaks to how awful he is.
Anyways, stop putting men on a pedestal and expecting that when they fall off they won’t land on someone lower and more vulnerable than them. While I’m sure there are genuine men in the industry, those genuine men don’t need to be deified.
