FIRSTLY: APOLOGY (It's not necessary to read it, but if there's someone following my blog, then it might explain a few things.)
So I decided it's time to write something again. If you were expecting other Potterlock outline then I'm terribly sorry. The fact is I had massive writer's block and when I've finally (FINALLY!!!) got over it I found out I lost my notes about 3. and 4. year. So I know the basics (after all I'm the one who created this story - I have to know it), but I had all the details in the notes (and the devil's in the detail after) and these two years are probably the two most complicated ones and everything is important in them. So as I said - terribly sorry, really I am.
Right now I'm in the middle of rethinking the story, so it'll take some time. On the lighter note; all my exams are (more or less) successfully done, my writer's block is gone (thanks to amazing Svar) and I even suffered flu already, so I believe here's nothing more that could distract me from writing. That means you can expect the next Potterlock "chapter" in week - might be two, but not more.
NOW TO THE DRAGON!LOCK STORY ITSELF:
Few things you should probably know about this story. It's mainly Dragon!lock, but mixed up with Fantasy!lock, Magic!lock (if that's even a thing...), Teen!lock/Uni!lock, Steampunk, some shape-changing, Sherlolly, Warstran, boarding school, war, experiments on people/drgons, might be some violence (not sure how much or if there will even be some description of it), oh and it's something like Victorian!lock, but defintely not entirely. And it's absolutely AU.
So - anyone up to reading such thing? Then let's get started!
Frist thing I'm going to do is describe the world.
It's not based on anything I've ever read or heard about. So simply just my original work - no crossover. And that means it really needs a good explanation. Very good one.
Well the world is in geographical way very similar to our own. It has colder parts near poles and warmer ones in the middle. It has seven continents and eight hidden one. Yes - that's the differenc. My world has Atlantis as well.
But it's not the same Atlantis like in Star Gate or Ice Age 4. This one isn't under water and never had been. It's actually safe and sound in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. Just protected with some heavy magic, so normal humans are unable to see that place. To be honest magic is the one main power that does almost everything on this continent - who would need electricity?. (And yes, it's not continent like continent, more like really huge island - like Iceland for example.)
However this island/continent is full of dragons. Yes, real living dragons. But these dragons can change their form. They can look like normal averge humans too and they actually choose this form more often, than their dragon one.
It's because:
Human body doesn't need such big amount of food, water or space
(Almost) No one will hunt you down or fear you, when you look like human (although animals can smell that you're half-blood)
When you're in dragon-form your brain reacts mostly on instinct and reflexes. So only the oldest, wisest and strongly willed can one day be able to talk in this form
You can use your magic just in human form. (That's because in human form your body's waiting for chance to morf into the dragon-form. But the change itself takes a lot of energy, that one creature can't possesd. So the energy gathers around each person. Dragons are just able to use this energy for themselves. They are able to bend the energy and let it do whatever they desire. Humans call it "magic", because they simply don't understand it.)
There are few more reasons, but let's leave it on these for now.
Then you should probably know something about history. According to legends, dragons used to be very powerful and huge creatures, but they started to make cubs with humans (don't aske me how - I don't have a clue. Those dragons were about 1000x the size of humans! Oh, well... Lets'd just say it happened... somehow, ok?) and that's how we got our half-blood shapeshifting dragons, this whole story will be about.
Anyone still confused? Then send me a message. I'd love to answer whatever questions you might have.
This part of outline will be terribely short - I'm sorry. But I can promise you at least two more parts of Dragon!lock: character study + storyline.
But before we'll end I've found a few pictures that look exactly like my verse of Atlantis. Hope this'll make up for the shortness of this outline. But I had to write the basic information somewere.
So living in Atlantis is actually - perfect. They have democracy, advanced medicine and industry, they're absolutely self-sufficient and they're in temperate climate. And I haven't even mentioned the magic stuff.
There are cozy, coroulful villages at the South. South even has many lakes.
North is more industrial-like. With the capital city Irunbis and the House of Parliament. The city is designed a bit like Budapest; one half is very modern and the second one historical.
It has many hills and mountains (and very high ones). The island is simply very beautiful and mostly peaceful. The main purpose of the Parliament is to keep dragons a secret. Some kinds of dragons have specific disposals like: healing saliva or extremly soft however strong and robust skin, etc. Those things can be valuable to humans and they even tried to use it in the past. Some kinds almost complytely died because of the hunts humans organized. What do you think witch hunts were for? Or why Vikings had dragons as decoration on their shields?
That's why dragons decided it'll be for best to leave to Atlantis and never come back. And thankfuly for them, humans forget fairly easily.

Sorry again - this actually is short and messy. But I promise to update asap.
Hope you enjoyed.
Oh - and it might be good for you to read my somewhat ABOUT page.
And all the characters belonge to their respective owners - I own only this messy outline
