How did you join the Hamilton fandom? ME LIKE-Y STORIES.
That...is actually a really good question. Um...
Well I actually have another blog that I’m never on now because this one is so much more fun to be on, but originally I saw posts for Hamilton on that one, but I blacklisted them because...I have no idea. I just didn’t know what it was and it was everywhere and bothering me.
And then I was at dinner at a family friend’s house and they started talking about it, and I told them I had no clue what it was. They, knowing that I have a massive love of theater, gave me their copy of the soundtrack to download onto my ipod to listen to.
I didn’t listen to it for about three months. Then one day I figured, ah...what the hell? and put it on. And I was kinda confused at first because somehow my ipod had been set to shuffle, so the first song played fine and then it jumped straight to Meet Me Inside, and then just all over the place so I was very confused for the first act. And then I realized what was wrong and fixed it. And then I fell in loved.
And then on the other blog I started following more Hamilton related people, but then realized that the 12 (yes...12) people who were following me there couldn’t give a rats ass about it. Around this time I had fallen back in love with In the Heights (after seeing it as a college production a couple years back) and was head over heels for Moana. So, the logical step was to make a blog all about this stuff and...
Here we are!
(Also, bonus story. For my 19th birthday my cousin took me to New York for a few days. We had a night were we didn’t have any plans so we figured we’d go and see if there were any cheap tickets for a show we could see. I hadn’t listened to the soundtrack, but I knew about Hamilton at that point. Well, the couple in front of us was asking for discount Hamilton tickets. For that night. I...I was laughing so hard and I think the person in the ticket booth was trying not to freak at them. It was hilarious that they actually thought they could get those tickets)
You're ironing? Really?
Yep.
Not anymore you're not.
