I’ve been playing Star Ocean: The Second Story R again lately and I’m struck by how beautiful the music is. It’s basically the same music as from the original game, but instead of being limited to the PS1’s soundfont, they got an actual orchestra to record the music and it’s just incredible. I’d recommend you play it just for the music alone, though the rest of the game is fantastic as well.

New Star Ocean Art:

It's not every day you get new official art for a franchise like Star Ocean, so I treasure every single piece I find. This is brand new art by Yukihiro Kajimoto for the first anniversary of Star Ocean 2R, and just seeing it put a big smile on my face.

Whilst I'm talking about older jRPGs, Last Cloudia is rerunning its Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile collab again, only this time they're adding new characters in the form of Dias Flac and Arngrim.

Once again, I'm just happy to see these franchises being remembered. :)
