Witchy Soaps!
We all know a shower is a great way to cleanse, spiritually and physically. Most basic soap bases can be found online and in craft stores like Micheals, or you can make your own. With just a few herbs and some concentration, you can make and charge some great soaps that’ll improve all your witchy showers!
I usually just melt my soap base in the microwave and mix in herbs, essential oils and sometimes a bit of coloring. Optional: carve sigils into the soap or charge ingredients before you add them.
Here are a few combinations to get you started:
-Lavender and Chamomile can relieve anxiety and stress and help you calm down. Eucalyptus works too. (If you want to charge with crystals, use Amythyst and clear quartz)
-Rose petals/rose oil, honey and a touch of vanilla can help draw love to you. (Charge with Rose Quartz)
-Lemon zest and basil can bring a zing of energy. (Charge with lots of sunlight and some citrine)
-Rosemary, Sage, and Aloe for a nice gentle healing soap to cleanse pain, improve circulation and help cleanse bad energy. plus it’ll help ground you. (Charge with Jade and Serpentine)
I like to carve sigils into my soap and charge them with crystals. You can recite charging spells or prayers as you stir the liquid soap and herbs (clockwise to bring good energy, counter-clockwise to banish bad.) For energy and healing soaps, charing them in the sun works great too! If you’re giving the soap as a gift, you can put a crystal right into the mixture to ensure it stays charged and when the soap is all used up, they’ve got a fun new gift! To use, focus on the lather the soap makes on your skin. Imagine all your troubles and negativity dripping down the drain with the foam and the desired affects sticking to your skin with the scent. All these recipes can work for candles too!
