Day 14-Coaster no one would expect you to like
i dont know. lol. Arrow coasters are hit or miss with me. Usually I'd think i wouldn't like them. If I didn't have so much sentimental memories to the Great American Scream Machine, then i probably wouldn't like it too much. My friends hated it. By the end, its was TOGO level painful. I dont mind getting roughed up by a coaster if there is some payoff to it. But thats another post
This is hard. The only coasters that friends would expect me to dislike are wild mouse rides and TOGO rides and the occasional unmaintained Arrow ride. And so far Ive been pretty accurate with that. There haven't been any that I surprised liked. There have been plenty of times where I was expecting to really like something and I don't. I have a very high bar of expectations i suppose.
I fail at this day of coasters.
To add something: Coney Island. Living in NYC, i go there a lot. In the past few years most of the amusement area was completely redone by a new owner and its great. The cyclone is untouched and its own thing. They have the tickler which is a spinning car mouse ride. Its a Zamperla twister model like the Ragin Cajun at SF Great America and I hate mice, but this one was actually fun. It might also factor who you ride it with, but it was a fun time. So that may count
They now have a Volare-Flying model called Soaring Eagle. Its actually the Flying Coaster from Elitch Gardens that was taken down and shipped to Brooklyn. Its ok, like the first one of its kind that Ive ridden-the SuperFlight at Rye Playland
But they also have this mini launch coaster called Steeplechase. Now not to shit on Coney cause I know the budget limitations they have, but the rides compared to a major park like Great Adventure or Dorney or Hershey (all close by) suck! but they work with what they got. But Steeplechase I really enjoy. I did not expect that from Coney Island
Its a Zamperla motocoaster with a flywheel launch like the Pony Express at Knotts Berry Farm and its surprisingly a lot of fun and packs a little surprise punch. Its 0-40/3 seconds to the top and then a bunch of helixes down. but FUN! so there, thats my pic
