Unfinished AR and Van Alden drabble
...I wish I could tell you what this was, or where it was going but I don't remember. Posting it because....AR makes me laugh.

“Last time I checked gambling isn’t against the law.”
If the Big Bankroll was perturbed at his all he didn’t look it as the six police officers made their way through his casino, pushing past the patrons and into the backrooms and upstairs into the private offices. Rothstein, however, was not looking at the crews but directly at Van Alden. His gaze seemed unblinking, somewhere between memorizing and searching for a weakness. Quite possibly both, if the rumors about the man were true.
“But owning and operating an illegal saloon is.” Nelson Van Alden shot back unlike his counterpart he was unwilling to meet AR’s eyes. He was focusing on a corner of the casino. The safe. “As soon as we conduct our search you’ll be able to continue your… games.” The last word was a curse.
Rothstein looked hurt. “Oh, Agent Van Alden- surely you don’t think I would do anything to countermine the Volstead Act? I’m a teetolater myself.”
“Perhaps.”
“Purity, soberity and the white Christian’s Jesus.”
