IT’S 2022, THE COCKTAIL WE NEED
Sobleman’s in Milwaukee
#foodtripping road trip memories: Sobleman’s in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Does anyone really need 7-ounces of vodka in the morning? Apparently they do, because Sobleman’s does a rip-roaring business with their famous Bloody Mary’s. The chicken-fried Bloody Mary aka The Beast, features a whole deep-fried bird, a steak, ribs, deep-fried cheese curds, jalapeno poppers, shrimp and bacon. Just a casual breakfast for $50. Our minds were blown. Read the full report here.
Hot-tip: While the Bloody Mary’s might be the star of the show, their burgers are also famous.
Marquette Student to Star in New HBO Series "Game of Scones"
Marquette student Christopher Poppins, a Sophomore in the College of Arts and Crafts, was recently contacted by a HBO executives in response to a six-hour long audition tape he submitted to a talent scout last June. HBO producers admitted they had never seen a boy with such natural aptitude for tracking, maiming and consuming a live ostrich.
"For a man of that size, [Poppin's] athleticism is just...unparalleled," said HBO Executive Mark Weinstein. "You could see in his eyes this determination, this absolute refusal to go hungry."
Known to his classmates at Marquette as "10 Patty Poppin," the Sophomore astounded the student body last semester by eating 10 triple Sobleman's burgers in a single sitting and complaining of hunger just minutes later.
"We thought about calling him '30 Patty Poppin,' or just 'that one fat guy,'" said Junior James Harwall. "But 10 just had a ring to it, so it stuck."
Game of Scones is to be a "food-rotic" re-imagining of the George R.R. Martin series A Song of Ice and Fire, said Weinstein, during which characters ride majestic beasts around a fictional realm in search of magical scones that give their consumers the power to gruel.
Poppins is to play the role of Robert Starch, the son of a powerful lord in the northern kingdom of Porkerfell .
"I'm just honored to be given this opportunity," Poppins said between swallows of his second Big New Yorker pizza. "I really think I'm gonna devour this delicious, delicious roll."
