Dating in Covid Times
How I do it? Through dating apps (how else!).
1. Talking lengthily without meeting forces conversations to be more than just about the physicality. But I miss the sexual attraction I get from physical closeness! The touch on the leg, the lingering hug, the kissing. Oh, the kissing!
2. This is not so new to me though, since I prefer talking to men for a good amount of time before meeting them. So in a way, I’ve been quarantine-dating even before quarantine-dating was a thing! I was prepared.
3. Social distancing date! Masks on, 6 ft. apart, opposite sides of the bench like 2 kids on a seesaw. True story- this happened, and coffee was had. How the date went? Actually pretty good. Long walk on the...sidewalks of the neighborhood. How I said goodbye? With a salute. A salute. Cause what am I going to do? Kiss? No. Handshake? No. Hand-salute? Seemed apt. This will be written down in the COVID dating handbook as a socially acceptable way of saying goodbye. In time, it might even be viewed as very romantic, and a sign that your date is SO into you. Can you imagine?!
4. Sex? What sex? HA! But in truth, I believe I may be demisexual. More on that on another post.
