He sat in the back alley, the hood of his cloak pulled over his head. The stinging sensation of the strike still resonated within him, forcing him to lean up against the wall for a moment. Isaac's head tilted back, he was kicking himself for letting the stone burn out. She had warned him about using it too much, but of course he didn't listen.
Now he was in a hostile city, without the stone, slowly bleeding out. All things considered, Isaac was certain today couldn't get any worse. It just wasn't mathematically possible.
Sighing, he felt something brush against his ankle. Looking down, ready to stomp the mysterious thing if it were a rat. To his surprise, the smallest panda he'd ever seen was sniffing around his boot.
"The hell..." He muttered, crouching down to have a look at the truly tiny creature.
