Majority of the time I have little idea about what people here go on about, but I’ve just seen a post that went: go to museums, even if you feel out of place, bc “there is an established concept of inaccessibility of "high culture" to the masses, purposefully developed to distinguish between social classes” and this time I’m literally like: what the hell kind of a world do you people live in??? Nobody has ever stopped anyone from going to museums…? Most of them are free… except the ones in high touristy places but that’s not what the poster meant anyway. Why, WHY do you have this need of turning everything under the fucking sun into politics?
#sococomorw#i'm too old for this shit#i say it as someone who goes into museums quite often#i also take pics of exhibits. lots of them#and i have had an interesting conversation once with a curator at the leeds art gallery#once i chatted to a curator at the castle museum in my home town bratislava#she thought i was a tourist and started talking to me in english. obvs couuldn't know i was a local#i come across as a tourist in my own hometown bc i go about with a camera#i go about with a camera in manchester where i live now as well#anyway back on topic. i plan to go to the war museum tomorrow actually#need to finish that spy exhibition which i didn't last time#sigh#mypost
