Ohana. Ohana means family. Most of you know this word from the adorable movie Lilo & Stitch. My tribe, however, gets the honor of living this word on the daily. Our tribe spans far and wide and is made up of people who we share genetics with...and those who we have had the honor of deciding to call our family. We have roots. Roots that run deep, span for hundreds of miles and a love that is even bigger. This past week, many of you reached out to offer support for not only me, as I struggled as a worried Momma, but also to offer up good vibes, prayers and energy for my son as he was struggling while following his passion. He was away in Chicago trying to pursue his dream as a dancer. While there, he encountered some vile energy at the hands of someone he once trusted. (We ALL trusted) I don't need to go into specifics because that is really menial for the bigger lesson here. His bigger struggles came when he was deciding whether or not to remove himself from the situation, walking away from potentially reaching his dreams. In the end, he came home....to his family. His tribe. And since the plane touched down, he has received an outpouring of love and support from our family and friends and the dance community as a whole. THIS was our lesson in all of this. We ARE love. Every single one of us who has intertwined our lives somehow. Love. It was abundant for him..and for me as his Momma. I wanted to thank you all. From the bottom of my heart. We felt you and we are stronger now because of you. My son is home. Safe and working to brush off the negative energies and get himself moving forward again....and I am simply humbled beyond words. It's time to move forward. Let go of what is most certainly below us. Find that place where we truly reside. Ohana. Love. Gratitude. @yo_n3rdy #yoga #family #love #gratitude #soflodancers #strongertogether #thismaybealittleshady #karmawins #support
