Sled Day 3: Soft Cure
One of my favourite new discoveries during Sled Island turned out to be a local artist. Soft Cure is the lo-fi bedroom pop project of Seth Cardinal, and while Seth writes and records all of his own material (literally in his bedroom, on cassette) he had a full band backing him during his show in Local 510, including a sad clown who did nothing but sit behind the band looking sad. Soft Cure’s music is a kind of gloomy, melancholy pop with the occasional tinge of surf and garage rock.

I wrote this song when I was 15, my first time trying to record it ever today, its about the fear of cancer, this isn’t finished yet, I found old lyrics for it and a cassette tape
I’m recording a synth punk ep, I had a weird dream a couple days ago where I lost all my hair and I was a girl so I wrote a song about it
I made this as a joke today and I’m going to record a version that is less shit now
