Problem
On occasion a board will not count a dart that does in fact stick. Why this happens doesn't matter. What matters is that it can and often does affect game play. Though I'm working hard on a fix for this now, the Valley IQ boards we use have never had a backup button since inception in 1995.
Intent of the Survey
Without a backup button to deal with a dart that sticks but isn't counted, there's only a few options. This survey is intended to address whether or not you, as the player community, prefer to keep the existing and long-standing rule in place, or perhaps consider a rule change.
Rule Change Options
The existing rule states, "The board doesn't lie". This means if a dart sticks but isn't counted, it will not count ever unless it is a game-winning-dart. An option exists to verify the dart with both teams, then cycle the turn around back to the shooter to give the missed points (or mark) manually to shooter. Consider this "correcting" the dart that wasn't counted.
Disclaimer
Keep in mind this cannot help in a situation where a dart is double-counted. This survey does NOT address double-counted darts. Without a backup button a mark or points cannot be "un-done". This is, again, something I'm working hard to hopefully add to the machines at some point in the future however.
