[7:08 PM] The dizzy tunes of slowed Lana del Rey and The Neighbourhood played softly through the echo dot as the fat drops of rain pelted and steamed up the windows of the apartment. The taste of hot cocoa on your tongue, the warmth of your sweater, the fuzziness of your blanket- everything seemed fine... perfect... well almost. You wrapped yourself tighter with the fuzzy pastel blue blanket your best friend Yangyang gave you... well best friend was an odd word now, right?
Two minutes earlier you had gathered up the courage... the courage to ask your best friend of five years if he would like to be your date to homecoming. The conversation had started normal- him asking about your day, you asking about his, going over the various loads of homework you both had, all until... well when you possed the question. Just as the worries began to eat away at all of your hope and panic began to settle into your bones, you heard the door ring.
“Hello?” Your voice, muffled from the blanket, was only met with another ring from your doorbell.
Sighing you went over and opening the door, you felt your heart sink. “Yangyang, I know we have been friends for a long time and if you-” Before you could finish your sentence, he cut you off with a kiss, surprising both of you with his confidence. Blushing, he backed away and chuckled. “I would be honoured.”
