ITS WIP WEDNESDAY AND ITS TIME TO HOLD MYSELF ACCOUNTABLE!! i have a ton of material drafted and its now time to EDIT. UGH!!

here's a snippet of an upcoming chapter of my pearlina fake dating fic 🩷🩷:

"Wow," said Marina, once they'd gotten back to Pearl's house after the album signing. She sank into Pearl's plush couch, sighing. "That was a lot."

"Tell me about it," Pearl said as she padded into her living room, a silvery bowl filled to the brim with popcorn in hand. "Man, I usually can ride with those things, but those kids are delusional. I can't believe they believe alla this." She held out the bowl, backlit by the giant TV screen behind her. "Want some?"

"Pearlie, I can't see!" Marina grabbed the couch cushion, darting from side to side.

"Prolly 'cus you're not wearing your glasses," Pearl said, unmoving.

Marina groaned, reaching into the bowl to grab a piece of popcorn. "I have my contacts in."

"I like your glasses better," Pearl said, "But fine! I'll get out of your way!"

"Thank you!" cooed Marina.

The two of them sat in silence as the movie, some old chick flick about two girls who actually signed up for a Turf War tournament, played.

"So, what's the wackest thing a fan said to you today?" Pearl asked, splaying herself across her white, leather loveseat. "One told me they'd been writing fanfiction of us for years and got me to sign a physical copy."

"I signed that one too," Marina said, sinking down in her seat. "They gave an extra copy to me. And I promised them I'd read it…"

"Hah!" Pearl guffawed, holding her stomach. "Ya did? Well, you're def more qualified than me to give a review on it!"

"I don't—didn't write about real people…" Marina said. "I really only wrote stuff like that when I was a teenager...

"Down in Octo-land?" Pearl asked. "Awww… so you got off your shifts, hid under your covers, and wrote Love with the Sea Dragon stories?"
