SOH Side Bits 5 (Edge’s POV)
Thank you @imtrashraccoon for this Kofi Event Request! Hope you enjoy~
Events right after the intervention on the Deck
~~~
There were too many eyes for Edge's liking. All of this was a situation, and a situation he would rather not be dealing with out in the open with the rest of the crew. It was already causing unrest. Don't get him wrong, he didn't mind calling out their "Captain", but he didn't like how the event was already causing more problems. There was also more to all of this than what was being said.
Sans might not have been one to go to such extremes without reason, but Axe wasn't one to hold back that much either. As much as he was loath to admit, Edge knew that if he had wanted to, Axe could have easily caused more damage than using simple bone attacks and warnings. He was more stubborn than even his brother and far more intelligent than he let on.
Scowling as Sans ran away, Edge quickly grabbed the scruff of his brother and dragged him towards the quietest parts of the ship. He needed more privacy than his room would allow. He also wanted to disperse the rest of the crew from their spying.
As he neared, they were already starting to scatter. "Mind Yourselves And Get Back To Your Stations Or You Will End Up Like My Brother! There's Nothing To See Here!"
Red squirmed in his grasp. "Edge! Tha Fu—!"
"Less Speaking, More Walking."
"I can walk jus' fine without yer!"
"And Yet, Here We Are."
He ignored the rest of Red’s grumbling as they made their way down and past groups of gossiping crew. At one point, Undying tried to stop him for information, but he was too quick to brush past her. It was near the end of the ship that he finally glanced around to make sure no one was following. Ushering Red down even further into the belly of the ship, he stopped just outside the stores.
Red was unimpressed, rubbing the back of his neck as soon as he was let go. "Ya wanna tell me why ya dragged me all tha way down here and not to yer cabin?"
Edge growled, whipping around to level him with a look. "I Want To Know What Exactly Is Going On And What You Were Thinking Snooping Around The Horror's Room. What Am I Missing? Something Stinks And It's Not The Fish."
Red huffed before giving a mischievous grin. "Sure it's not yer—" A solid smack to his skull got him back on track. "Fer stars sake! Alright, alright! Sheesh. I don't know what ya want from me. I told ya everythin that happened, up on the deck."
Edge growled again, leaning down with narrowed sockets. "You And I Both Know Something's Off. This Marking And Banthos Nonsense Aside. What Is It? Why Did You Really Go Into Axe's quarters? And Why Are Both Sans and Axe So Bothered?"
Something by the way Red looked away and scratched at his sternum, resonated with him. "Don't know, boss. It's what I was tryin ta figure out. But whatever it is…" Red's eyelights flashed as a shiver ran up his spine. "We best be keepin' a socket open."
…
Edge knew enough when not to push. He knew and trusted Red too much. All he could do now was plan. Between the two of them, they would figure it all out.
