Sohigho Plans Chain of Ohio Marijuana Stores
Sohigho is pleased to announce the launch of our chain of retail marijuana stores in Ohio. Three initial stores will be followed by forty more within two years, as licenses and approval from local municipalities fall in to place.
Sohigho is "well capitalized," according to Alex Mayer, a consultant for producer-processors and retail stores in Washington. The Sohigho team includes Mayer and other "players" from Washington's booming marijuana industry.
"We're not carpetbaggers," insists Mayer. "Last time I checked, you didn't need a passport or a visa to move to Ohio. Seems to me we should get tax incentives, like the ones local governments hand out to other industries to attract jobs."
Sohigho has begun reaching out to local government leaders in order to ease the way for Sohigho-branded retail stores to open in Athens, Fairfield and Franklin County by late 2017. "I grew up in Athens; Lancaster has long been a test market for fast food; and Columbus has the population density. Plus, that's where Wendy's started, and we're going to be the Wendy's of marijuana. It fits."
Sohigho stores will resemble fast food outlets from the outside, complete with drive-thru. Customers over 21 will get access to a wide variety of cannabis flowers, oils and edibles. "We'll be carrying the best products only, cherry-picking from the various Ohio producer-processors as they get their acts together. Starting from scratch is a good thing in many respects, but folks in Ohio are light years away from getting up to speed with states like Washington and Colorado." Although Issue 3 was defeated today, Sohigho is confident that Ohio will legalize marijuana in the 2016 election, paving the way for our stores to open shortly thereafter. "It's a long-term investment."
This election changed the conversation about marijuana, and the end of prohibition in Ohio is inevitable.
