Dear Future Me,

Please don’t let anyone control your happiness. You’ve done it before, probably more than once at the point you’re at now. But please remember, no one controls your actions but yourself. You do what you need to. Travel, be creative, write a book. Go watch a sunset if you want to. Don’t let someone tell you not to live or how to live, because it’s honestly not worth it. If a man tells you to jump, you tell him to leave. You do not need a man to make you happy. All you need is yourself. Start there first. And if you are with someone who doesn’t make you smile every second of the day, leave. You deserve better.
