happy 19th birthday @sohryu !!  ♡

holy shit emmi it seems so weird that you’re 19?!? like i remember you had just turned 18 when we met and i was still 17 and that feels so long ago already. in the past year, you’ve given me a friend that i always know i can turn to if i ever need anything. you’ve helped me through some really weird and rough times and have had my back through all of it. i’m excited whenever i get to send memes to you or shit talk tumblr or enthuse about cats and carl grimes together, and it seems like every time we message you always know how to make me laugh. you’re the first person to ever get me to watch an anime all the way through (!!!) and i’m positive that death note wouldn’t have been the same without your hilarious rabbit commentary. i can’t tell you how much i loved introducing you to orphan black too, and streaming it with you this summer was the best and i hope we can do that again soon! 

i also want you to know that you’re just so empathetic and caring all the time, to everyone, and i admire your strength so much. on top of that, you’re a great artist (throwback to your amazing rarl fan art), a crazy talented writer, and are maybe the hecking cutest person in the whole world (btw can i please have your hair??). i’m so, so lucky to have met you around this time last year, and i can’t thank you enough for being my best internet friend i’ve ever had. i love you and i hope your birthday has been amazing binch!! you deserve it! ♡ ♡ ♡

also i think a lot about the potential directions for hisoka and sohryu’s relationship once everything in gensoukai is over. like, i think it’s pretty clear hisoka craves a healthy father-son relationship since he’s been so deprived of one his whole life. and here sohryu is, so stern and powerful in his job just like nagare, but then so painfully sweet and sincere when it comes to his kids (and tsuzuki)

i keep thinking about those panels where hisoka sees sohryu playing with kijin and tenkou and how hisoka watches sohryu smile so softly at them and how he’s never once seen a smile like that from his own father, and how he wants it so badly and it’s right there but it’s not for him

obviously sohryu has his own issues with hisoka but he does seem to be mellowing somewhat (as much as sohryu can lmao), and in that scene where they spoke while sohryu was healing in the cave hisoka seems desperate to make amends and gain sohryu’s approval and i just really want to see that expanded

i just think there’s the potential for such a good relationship there, for it to soothe some of hisoka’s oldest wounds but also to help remove the stick from sohryu’s ass and i don’t have a coherent ending to this train of thought but basically: post-gensoukai war sohryu is hisoka’s new dad thank u
