In a single night, those seeking to rid the world of mutants, the enhanced, and their allies nearly succeeded. They attempted to wield the reality stone to shape a reality without them all, but the combined effort of Stephen Strange, Wong, and Wanda Maximoff proved enough to save them from that fate. But the reality stone does not like to be toyed with and fights back. First, our heroes found themselves plunged into the Dream Dimension, forced to come face to face with the horrors of their worst nightmares. But the night is over and it’s time to wake up.
In an attempt to save everyone, they were all brought to Erik Lehnsherr’s island of Genosha. This is where they will awaken from their nightmares, spread across the island and exposed to the various environments each location brings. Look to the sky and see crackles of red energy occasionally surge, exposing the fact that the reality stone has trapped them on the island. Genosha is their new home, but for their own safety, they’ll have to get to the main city, Hammer Bay, first.
The city is the main hub of the island for a reason, as the rest of the land proves dangerous. Groups of heroes and allies are waking in groups scattered to the furthest corners of the island and must work their way to the safety of the city through both the dangerous environments naturally held and any obstacles the reality stone may warp into their paths.
OOC Information:
THIS WILL BE A DISCORD BASED EVENT ON SATURDAY MARCH 9TH AT 9PM EST/SUNDAY MARCH 10TH AT 10AM GMT+8. Similar to a previous event, groups will be assigned earlier in the day. We recommend that you take the opportunity to reach out and plot with those in your group. These groups are also only a starting point, your characters are welcome to leave their group if they so choose but keep in mind the distance to travel before finding another.
Feel free to look at the Genosha locations page HERE for additional information about what your characters may face. Each location will have a discord channel dedicated to it, keep in mind your character may have to travel between different locations to get to the main city. A map for reference will be provided.
Every character currently in the rp will be assigned to a group, we know and acknowledge that not every character will be available to participate. You are welcome to headcanon ideas for what your character was doing in their group at this time, we simply ask that you’re mindful to what others have been up to and have already done. Communication is key.
Adequate participation in the event will count as one (1) post toward activity per character for the week.
Depending on how far we get at the end of the event, the discord channels will remain open for anyone wishing to continue interaction in there and wrap up plots as needed. You are able to begin interactions on the island post-event. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
he wakes at the bottom of a chasm, and worryingly, it isn’t the first time that’s happened. except this time, he’s actually with someone, and that’s always nice. not that having someone else fall down into a chasm with him is nice, because that’s not fun for anyway, but it’s nice not to be alone.
he gets to his feet, dusting himself off, and takes a look at the opening of the chasm ( HAH, AND IF THAT AIN’T A EUPHEMISM ) trying to gauge if they can climb out or not. doesn’t look like it, if he had to take a brief estimate, and it looks like the only other exit is —
ah. past the big hoard of nasty six-armed bastards.
‘ OKAY, we can do this. we’re both strong, handsome men, and probably pretty capable at kicking ass if our movies are anything to go by. i believe in us. why shouldn’t i believe in us? look at you, you’ve got that fucking cool metal arm, and i’ve got my girls. ’
he reaches behind his back and pulls out his two katanas ( BEA AND ARTHUR, HIS GOLDEN GIRLS ) before he brandishes one of them in the direction of the hoard, though his attention and his body stays turned towards bucky.
‘ ONWARDS, sweet prince, for today we go into battle. we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, yada yada yada, winston churchill was a racist, the end. say it with me now: MAXIMUM EFFORT. ’
and he’s off, heading towards the closest outrider — ‘ GET FUCKED, you resident evil looking motherfu— ’ and promptly gets his head torn clean off his body, which is then thrown back towards bucky. it rolls along the ground before coming to a stop at bucky’s feet.
EVENT 7.1 – FOR EVERY ACTION, THERE IS A REACTION - KABOOM
In a matter of moments, without warning, both the X-Mansion and the Avengers Compound were invaded and attacked. What had been done to the anti-movement’s makeshift prison was given in return to these established places. The foundation was blown and most of their structures have collapsed, leaving students, faculty, friends, family.... stuck inside.
Olivia Trask and Thaddeus Ross immediately moved to hold a press conference to broadcast to the world. Proud of what they’ve done, stating that it was for the good of mankind, and ensuring that there will be peace on the horizon.
But there’s more boiling beneath the surface, and what you choose to do will make a difference.
The Avengers Compound is in near ruin, anyone that was trapped inside or on the grounds when it fell should have injuries (unless they have accelerated healing). Unfortunately, NPCs such as staff, trainers, and trainees will have perished. Please act or react accordingly.
The X-Mansion has collapsed within itself but the structure still mostly stands, leaving the basement mostly left stable - however the way to Cerebro has been blocked by large amounts of debris and an electrical fire that is hard to extinguish. NPCs such as students, parents, faculty, will have likely become severely injured and/or perished. Anyone within the school or its grounds should be injured, so please react accordingly.
Please be aware that more is happening during this event. From time to time, we will select a character at random to be attacked. If your character is selected, the admins will contact you to plot. Threads will be done via the @villainsofsoi blog. Don’t worry, we’ll keep the threads short, but please respond to them -- and remember it’s a 50/50 chance on who wins the attacks.
This event will happen on the dash only, the discord may be used for plotting purposes. A discord raid event related to this event will happen in the future, so keep an eye out!

Jean Grey, upon arriving back at the X-Mansion and settling back in has realized that the group of people she’d learned to love as both friends and family were now more spread out and apart than ever before. With the holidays coming up, Jean decided to put together a little party at the X-Mansion and invite everyone that was within the stone and the school and any friends they may have. (Everyone, except for Selene of course.)
With Charles’ help and his use of Cerebro, Jean has reached out through him to everyone (not uneasy towards having their minds invaded -- for them they will be reached by other means --) telepathically and has enacted the help of Kurt Wagner to get the school ready for the party. With given permission, Charles has sectioned off the front gardens and the grand dining hall for everyone to attend the festivities. Tables of beverages (sorry friends, no alcohol, this is a school after all-!), food, and gifts can be seen along the walls of the dining hall, seats and tables are scattered, and a big beautiful festive tree sits in the front lawn of the school.
Holiday music will play endlessly all through the night where dancing and singing along karaoke-style can be had-! A stalk of mistletoe will be placed above the main hall’s archway for any happy couple to enjoy a sweet kiss. Please respect the professors wishes and to only stay in the designated public areas of the school, as he still has students and teachers who wish to not attend and to live their lives.
And please do not enter the basement, it is strictly off-limits-!
This will be both a discord and dash event that will span throughout the weekend-! Feel free to continue the dash threads throughout the week (this includes after party shenanigans). People can, of course, go into the restricted areas and bring alcohol to the party if they are sure they will not get caught, after all, what’s a little mischief?
Participation is not required but if your character will not be attending the party, please have them at least acknowledge that they’ve heard an invite from Charles or if your character has an issue with telepathy, some other form of invitation.

With the return of half the population, the Universe is in shambles once more. Jobs that were previously easier to get, are now being desperately vied for. Food is running on shortages, marriages, relationships, etc are broken and forced. Most people are glad to have their loved ones back, glad to see that when they disappeared that there hopes and prayers had been answered and the world was restored.
But some... some aren’t so happy with the return of the heroes who fought so hard to make this right.
Anti-Mutant and Anti-Enhanced groups have begun to rise, becoming ever increasingly popular and more and more violent and extreme with their views. Even those who aren’t truly mutants or enhanced are being targeted - many are blaming the Avengers and others with super powers for the crisis. Many are taking the law into their own hands, attacking and imprisoning anyone they view as ‘inhuman’.
The granddaughter of Bolivar Trask, Olivia Trask has risen in ranks up through the government and is currently running for Senate. It’s unknown at this time as to if she share her grandfather’s ideas, but given the whispering about Sentinels making a comeback, and with the anti-mutant stance becoming a strong one, there’s a high chance that she does.
The violence has already begun. Certain characters have been viciously attacked, and some have been imprisoned in unofficial prisons.
Some of the things that have happened:
An Inhuman registry has been started by a group known as the “Human Council”, keeping a list of all known “inhumans” (which includes mutants, enhanced, aliens, and others with powers. This started with the database at SHIELD. Daisy downloaded and wiped the SHIELD registry, but the Human Council is starting to put together their own list.
A group known as “Friends of Humanity” has started attacking and imprisoning inhumans. They are heavily armed and equipped with illegal power-dampening collars, and there are suspicions that they are being funded by some very powerful people behind the scenes.

Riots and protests have broken out around the X-Mansion and the Avengers Compound.
Counter efforts have been started:
Spies R Us: Clint, Natasha, Frank and Scott (Summers) have started attempts to infiltrate the anti-mutant groups, steal their information and break them up from within.
The Brotherhood: Erik Lehnsherr has started reforming the Brotherhood to start fighting back against the anti-mutants and to break out those who have been taken.
OOC Information:
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to figure out how your characters have been affected by this - will they try to remain neutral, or pick a side? Will they even have a choice?
Start plotting! We are trying to organise rescue attempts to get to those who have been caught. Start up your own group or join a group in the Discord plotting channel.
We are not giving out assignments for this event - instead, the idea is for groups to form more organically and come together based on their in-game connections. For instance, Erik wants to start up the Brotherhood and fight back, but this depends on who is willing to agree with his methods - or go along for now. Others, like the Avengers or the Guardians, may try to rally their allies. Feel free to use the plotting channel to reach out to others in the group.
It is also possible that some may defect to join either the Human Council or the Friends of Humanity. In particular, these groups would pay a lot of money and provide offers to sanctuary to those who are willing to come forward with information on Inhumans. Again, if you are interested, feel free to post something in the plotting channel.
We encourage everyone to do at least three posts (which is - not by coincidence - also the activity requirement for a week!) around the event - post a starter, jump on someone else’s starter, or do a thread with someone, your choice!
Thanos has arrived in style, and his Black Order have retaken the Time Stone from Stephen Strange, leaving Thanos with three out of six of the stones - Space, Time and Reality.
With these in place, he is hunting for the power and mind stones, held by Mantis and Daredevil respectively.
In the meantime, Tony Stark has sent out messages on communicators asking everyone to assemble by the ruined Colosseum, and others like Steve Rogers and Peter Quill have been trying to round up everyone. It’s time to start the counterattack.

We will be starting the final showdown next weekend, and will likely be kicking this off with a Discord Event or two. We are running a poll on the best times for everyone - the link is available in the Discord OOC (announcements channel) - please head over to fill that up as soon as you can.
For this week, there are the following plots that are up for grabs - unless otherwise mentioned, you don’t need admin approval to start any of these, just go ahead with them (but do let us know what’s going on so that we can keep track of what’s happening in the Stone):
Showdowns with each of Thanos’ Black Order - each of these need to be disabled (though if they are killed, they will return thanks to the Soul Stone’s dynamics).
Thanos is still trying to recruit or turn people to his side. If you would like be one of those joining the Mad Titan, just let us know (and you can go ahead and start fights with other players - just make sure that this is all discussed beforehand and agreed upon between players).
Tony is searching for the mind and power stones, and each of the stones (including the soul stone) are starting to react to the others’ presence. Things may be getting a little unstable around here.
IC plotting - a big part of the Thanos showdown is going to be driven by whatever ideas characters come up with IC to take Thanos down. Have a clever way to overcome the power of the stones and get rid of the Gauntlet? Let the characters know! Do note that Thanos is effectively invulnerable to all ‘normal’ weaponry, so just slicing his arm off isn’t going to work. However, powers may be able to work directly on the Gauntlet. However, Thanos is able to literally warp reality, and can likely counter most attacks.
As always, old threads can continue, but we encourage you to start wrapping up existing plots!
04. Environment Change - From water we are born; to water we return
It starts with a warm breeze, then a lightening of the sky. Like the sun rising, the darkness lifts, giving way to a familiar orange glow, and underfoot, the snow begins to melt.
White turns to mirrored orange - the ground is now covered with a thin layer of water, stretching in all directions as far as the eye can see. The volcano is gone, leaving buildings scattered across the landscape. Pavilions and ruins, as though the soul stone has swallowed not only souls of people, but souls of buildings as well.
There is a stillness to the air, a sense of anticipation. For the first time in a long time, the voices seem to have paused. It seems as though the Stone is holding its breath - watching, waiting, and wary.
Environment change!
Environment effects:
The snow has melted into water that stretches in all directions. It reaches up to the ankles (unless you’re Rocket, in which case it reaches the shins).
The mountains are gone. Instead, there are scattered buildings - all fairly far apart. Modern buildings, ancient ruins, they seem to be gathered from all time periods and civilisations - and not just Earth ones.
The animals are gone. There seem to be more souls - ghosts, in fact, that flicker around in the distance.
Status effects:
The voices are quieter, replaced instead by a sense that this is the calm before the storm. But the hallucinations are worse - with how reflective and open the landscape is, there is almost always something flickering at the corner of the eye.
There are what seem to be ghosts, reflections of those have gone before.
The dead keep being approached by the ghosts, who whisper to them to give in, and join them.
The living are starting to feel tired, and the tension of waiting makes them wonder - is there even any more point in fighting to get out, or should they just accept this place?
OOC notes:
Players of dead characters can choose to have them fade out and away, whereupon they may become invisible to the living and temporarily ‘lost’ within the soul stone. They can come back if someone persuades them to stay, or somehow pulls them back (for instance, via magic, telepathy, a shock, or some other method - feel free to be creative!).
Players of living characters can choose to have their characters give up and give in to the stone, whereupon the character can die and become one of the dead (this may have plot implications later and is not reversible!). Please let the admins know if you’re planning on have this happening, and please be sensitive to suicide triggers. Otherwise, they’re going to start feeling stressed - and will they give in and give up, or will they rise to the challenge of escaping with renewed purpose?
As always, old threads can continue, but new threads should be based in the new environment.

Event - 002 - When the Party Ends, we fade to black.
Overview:
As things go, this was all too good to last.
The Time Stone and the Mind Stone have finally appeared in the Soul World. The Stone Keepers have been unveiled, and Thanos’ Black Order has returned seemingly from the dead, to reclaim the stones. And they’ve brought friends!
How it works:
1. There are five stones, and five of Thanos’ Black Order baddies. Each member of the Black Order is going after one of the Stones and its keeper.
2. The characters have been paired and assigned to one of the teams protecting a specific stone. You are required to do at least one thread with your designated partner. Threads should be tagged #soi event
3. (Optional) If your pair succeeds in fending off whatever the Black Order is throwing at them, they can try to assist the rest of the team - you are welcome to coordinate with others in the team - the Stone Keepers are going to need all the help they can get!
4. Success is optional. You have full flexibility to fail (in whole or in part).
You are free to:
Get your characters injured
Get your characters killed (death is not permanent, but there will be repercussions)
Lose the Stones (there may be a further chance to get them back, and even if there isn’t, it’ll just make things more interesting down the road)
Tear up the place
Cry
Please note: Powers have been restored.
5. If your partner is on hiatus or not responding, please let the admins know - you can still take part in the event by starting threads with your own team mates! If you need to go on hiatus and don’t expect to be able to take part, please let the admins know ASAP.
6. Existing threads may still be continued. Non-event threads should be based post-event (we will try to publish the outcome of the event after about one or two weeks, so you may wish to wait for that update first).

Team A (Mind):
1. Leads: Tony + Mantis - Corvus Glaive
Tony Stark was just talking with Captain America when it an invisible force began to pull him away from the Captain. Finding himself surrounded in a clearing of the Jungle with, Tony took a look around to find Corvus Glaive with Mantis held as his current prisoner. It’s when Tony notices the familiar glint of the Mind stone currently being held tightly in Mantis’ hands. Can Tony get her free, or will Mantis manage freeing herself first? Why does it seem Corvus is immune to the stone? And can the two fight him off before he can meet back up with the rest of his siblings?
Peter Quill and Peter Parker were just hanging out and getting to know each other as brothers when suddenly it seemed as if the party had cleared out and the two were alone. Suddenly, the ground begins to rumble and a pack of Outriders begins to surround them. With Quill’s music player still blaring out his Awesome Mix volumes, will the two fight side-by-side to the beat of Hooked on a Feeling? Or will the Outriders outlast them? And can they run to the aid of Tony and Mantis in time?
3. Shuri + Charlotte
A sorcerer has appeared to haunt Shuri with illusions of her brother, T’Challa. He’s blaming her and he is angry. Using his skills to attack her and her panther, can Shuri make it out of this alive? And what about the aid of Charlotte, who just happened to be nearby when this happened and can also see the illusionist disguised as the Black Panther? Something’s gone wrong with Charlotte’s powers though – causing her to make the surface both slick and sticky in random interchanges. Can they defeat the Sorcerer and get to the aid of Tony and Mantis before it’s too late?
[ Please note that the illusion!T’challa does not have his armor, but does have his claws and is vulnerable to attacks, any other powers he may possess is up to players! ]
4. Wanda + Elektra
Wanda is no fool when it comes to illusionists so when she senses her mind being attacked – she turns on the Sorcerer immediately. What she doesn’t realize is that a herd of Outriders is sneaking up on her. Luckily for her, the master assassin Elektra was nearby and spotted them before they could get the jump on the Scarlet Witch. Can the two women fight off the sorcerer and the outriders in time to help Tony and Mantis stop Corvus?
[ The sorcerer may take form of Matt Murdock and Vision to try to overcome both Wanda and Elektra’s minds. – What powers they posses is up to players! Number of outriders are up to players! ]
Team B (Time):
1. Leads: Stephen + Rocket - Ebony Maw
Rocket detects the new energy signature first, while calibrating some of his equipment. The Time Stone materializes unexpectedly in the scrap yard, and Rocket picks it up, when Doctor Strange’s arrival just steps behind. While they’re busy arguing over the Stone, Ebony Maw appears to take control of it.
Vanessa’s just talking to Strange when an unseen power lifts her off her feet, slamming her into Bobby and sending both of them flying into the surrounding jungle. When they regain their feet, they find themselves cornered by three frankly gigantic spiders that look like they’re out for blood. Will they be able to navigate past the spiders and go to Strange’s assistance?
[ The spiders are real, and they’ve strung up giant webs to trap the unsuspecting. What other creatures lurk on the jungle trek back to the scrap yard - or whether they can even find the scrap yard again, is up to the players. ]
3. Raven + Felicia
Raven and Felicia are mostly minding their own business when Ebony Maw drops what feels like half the scrap yard on them, pinning them down under an unstable structure that feels like it’s going to collapse on their heads. And to make matters worse, the Outriders have sensed the trapped victims and are circling in. Will they be able to escape and help Strange to stop Maw before he gets the Time Stone?
Team C (Power):
1. Leads: Charles + Erik - Supergiant
Supergiant seizes on Charles and Erik the moment she appears, attempting to take control of them, or destroy their minds if she can’t. Her objective is Charles’ stone, and if she can possess Erik, she knows that she’ll have a minion that no one will be able to stop.
Jean’s hanging out with Charles when the world seems to warp violently. Maria, seeing her in distress, runs to assist. They find themselves seemingly transported to another section of the jungle, and is that Logan and Nick Furycoming after them with murder in their eyes?
In reality, they haven’t moved from the scrap yard at all, and the illusions are really two sorcerers in disguise - but there’s nothing illusory about the fact that they’re trying their best to kill them. Will they be able to figure it out and kill the sorcerers and escape the illusion? And will they be in time to help Charles and Erik?
[ Players can assume that Illusion!Nick has weapons and Illusion!Logan has his claws, but not his healing abilities. All other abilities are up to the players. ]
3. Peter Maximoff + Steve
Steve’s talking to Tony when the other suddenly appears to suit up and go straight for him. Peter goes to help, when both he and Steve are suddenly pinned down someone hurling large chunks of metal at them from the scrap yard - is that Erik Lehnsherr?
In reality, they haven’t moved from the scrap yard at all, and the illusions are really two sorcerers in disguise - but there’s nothing illusory about the fact that they’re trying their best to kill them. Trapped between Iron Man and Magneto, will they be able to figure it out and kill the sorcerers to escape the illusion? And will they be in time to help Charles and Erik?
[ Players can assume that Illusion!Tony has repulsor blasts, but the armour is an illusion and the sorcerer himself is not armoured. Erik’s sorcerer has the power of telekinesis and may hurl things at them. All other abilities are up to the players. ]
Team D (Space):
1. Leads: Loki + Scott Lang - Cull Obsidian
The ground begins to shake and tremble, to Loki, it feels like when Hulk is walking by. Unfortunately, it’s not the Hulk – It’s Cull Obsidian, and he’s coming for the Tesseract. Lucky for Loki, Scott Lang is nearby and he immediately suits up to help the God of Mischief in what is, quite frankly, an uneven match. Will Loki and Scott work well enough together to take Cull down? Or will the Tesseract be lost to the heroes?
Thor has approached Gamora to talk to her since he’s last seen her – when both of them sense that something is off. Suddenly, the ground rumbles below them and they find themselves being pulled by a seemingly invisible force towards an entirely new part of the Soul Stone. Trapped for the time being, they begin to be plagued with a sorcerer who has illusioned themselves as Thanos, surrounded by Outriders disguised as the members of the Black Order. Will they be able to fight off the onslaught of illusions and Outriders and run to the aid of Loki and Scott? Or will they succumb?
[ please note; the sorcerer is substantially weaker than Thanos, but it does not mean it cannot pack a punch, illusion!Thanos’ powers are up to players! The illusion!Black Order has limited powers and works more like Outriders, but additional powers belonging to the original Black Order are up to players! ]
3. Natasha + Valkyrie
Formidable warriors in their own respective fields, both Natasha and Valkyrie have found themselves on the other end of the chasm that opened up when the ground began to shake and split - a chasm which is now trying to close up on them. Should they find a way up and out? Or try to get through the onslaught of Outriders trying to climb down and get them? Or will the chasm close in on them and crush them? If they do get out and can fight off the Outriders, will they be able to run to Loki and Scott’s aid in time?
Team E (Reality):
1. Leads: Grandmaster + Logan - Proxima Midnight
Proxima knows that it would be hard to take the Grandmaster on in a fight, which is why she’s brought an army of Outriders. As she moves in to circle the Grandmaster, a group of her Outriders go after a loner with his African Lion, drawing him into the fray.
One of the drop ship for Proxima’s Outriders comes crashing down almost right on top of Ororo and Jessica in a blaze of fire. The Outriders start pouring out, if they don’t stop them, the Soul World is going to have a serious infestation problem. Will Jessica and Ororo be able to hold back the tide, or better yet, blow up the ship or trap the Outriders back in it?
[ Ship details are up to the players.]
3. Wade + Bucky
The entire ground splits, sending them crashing down into a ravine. It’s a sheer drop, and they have the choice of trying to climb out - which may prove impossible - or try to go round. But what seems like a huge pack of Outriders is coming towards them from the other end.
And to make matters worse, the Soul World seems to be trying close the chasm up again. Will they be able to escape being turned into glorified fossils, or will they be able to escape in time and help the Grandmaster and Logan?
