Ive been reading my favorite Phantom of the Opera fanfics, and KINTSUGI by Soignante is definitely one of them. Its also very hard to read it cause of all of the trauma, abuse and horrible human beings in general (and its not Erik). But its also so amazingly written...Soignante is really a master in her craft. I miss her work.

If you like Phantom, i recommend it, but a lot of trigger warnings, so beware...

I know the whole “gatekeeping” discussion was a thing, but…are people leaving because they want more close-knit discussion with “safe” people? Because I can see some folks wanting that

Are other people leaving? If so, I wasn’t aware.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but I just feel like it’s time for me to step back and leave tumblr to the next wave of writers. I’ve had a nice time and I’ll miss it a lot, but it’s the healthiest solution I can think of for everybody.

H: How would you describe your style?

Dialogue-focused and....not very visually simulating. Seriously, I need to work on describing my environments.

K: What’s the angstiest idea you’ve ever come upwith?

As far as ideas I’ve published, The Ten Minutes, which is about E/C losing a baby. It broke @klausscrimshaw.

T: Any fandom tropes you can’t stand?

I personally don’t like it when Erik abuses Christine and she stays willingly. I once started reading a fic where Erik snaps Raoul’s neck and then forces Christine to strip and bathe in front of him. I KNEW this was marked as a romance, though. So, I skipped ahead, and suddenly they’re on a cruise and Chrisitne is pregnant and they’re happy and married. Just, please no.

V: If you could write the sequel (or prequel) toany fic out there not written by yourself, which would you choose?

Oh, lord. Never thought of this before. I guess I’d write a sequel to @queenofthemorgue‘s story about Erik and Meg ice skating, just for more E/M winter cuteness. <3

“I Am Free”

ok, so this is the big phantom thing i was doing!!! i made this as a gift for @soignante 

 it is my favorite scene from her modern AU Phantom fic “Kintsugi”, amazing brown skin Christine surprises Erik, performing one of his original compositions, and while i was reading i was like “omg, i can’t even...”. I love this, i love this fic, it is my favorite fic ever, i just had to make this, and i had a lot of fun. i hope the phandom enjoy this, and that you will read it.

I get updates from ffnet in my email. Do you publish elsewhere?

I publish some things retroactively to AO3, but otherwise, no. I know some people don’t have FFN accounts, but I just wonder whether it’s worth it to keep posting updates here if most do.

@cuddlepossum​ @pagesofangels​ Maybe we can work on waking it up a bit? Not sure how, though..

I’ve tried to participate more, especially sharing and reacting to other’s fanwork like I used to. But school is a big, ugly monster and it’s stealing my time. Once I only have to worry about working full-time, I feel I’ll be better as budgeting my time. You know what...I might be able to make a post about this.
