Your relationship started back at Overwatch, but it really blossomed after the Petras hearing. Vivian finally had time to devote to you outside of your little organization provided apartment.
Vivian is confident about loving you, even if sometimes she wonders if you'd rather be with someone a bit less synthetic. You can always tell when she feels that way because she half jokes about you dating an omnic.
You couldn't see yourself with anyone else, and Vivian seems to forget that at one point, she was the one who made her prosthetics.
When she gets into vigilante work, and eventually rejoins Overwatch, you excitedly show her sketches and blueprints that you had been working on since the disbandment. There's more than just her things, and you secure yourself a spot on the team.
When you go back to work, you teasingly call her "Captain Chase" just to watch her get flustered.
Vivian prefers to stay in as opposed to going out with the exception of getting your morning coffees (she can't quite make it the way you like and she thinks the foam art is adorable) and croissants.
She knows that you can cook, and most of the time, you do, but this is just something small that she can do for you. It doesn't feel fair to her that you cook all their meals when you're also working and doing other things.
Vivian likes to put her prosthetics on herself because that's how she's always done it, but as the two of you get closer, she agrees to let you help more. She won't admit that you are definitely a bit better at it than she is.

Vivian doesn't have much feeling in what's left of her body, so she prefers to give rather than receive. Technology has definitely found ways to make it easier for her, but she still greatly prefers bringing you pleasure.
She won't ever say no to seeing you on your knees, ready to submit to her. This woman definitely has a bit of a power kink, and if you ask her about it, she won't be able to explain how it's different than running her strike team, but it is.
Vivian prefers more intimate, passionate sex over anything else. She likes to hold you in her arms and feel your body close to hers, even if she's being rougher than normal.
She's got a few cybernetic attachments for her body, but Vivian really prefers tasting you on her tongue over everything else. She loves being up close to see all the ways she's affecting you.
Vivian understands if you feel the balance is off, so she tries really hard to give you chances to touch her too. Vivan likes feeling your fingers inside of her, and tends to take the reins and ride them when you fuck her.
Even when she's being submissive, both of you know that she's still very much in charge of things, but you don't mind.

Winston:
It's obvious that Winston loves peanut butter, which is fine in and of itself. I think he has a really bad habit of leaving empty pots around the Overwatch HQs, especially his room though. That, and making the worst combinations imaginable. Like peanut butter and spicy chips, or peanut butter and eggs, that sort of thing. He would convince everyone to try it, and feel rejected if they didn't. It's his worst habit but not necessarily a toxic one; otherwise he's a pretty sensible individual.
Lena Oxton / Tracer:
Tracer's worst habit is definitely picking at her nails. She tends to do so as a self soothing action, but she doesn't know when to stop and it causes her to have scabs sometimes that Emily has to mend for her. It's something she's aware of but nothing helps to stop her from doing so; she's tried picking stones, those zit popping toys, everything. Nothing feels as good as picking her skin when she's anxious.
Mei-Ling Zhou / Mei:
When Mei's in a low mood and is struggling mentally, she sometimes finds it hard to avoid not talking down herself, or viewing herself negatively. It seeps into the atmosphere in HQ, and it's something that she struggles to get herself out of. Once the bad thoughts start, she can't control them and struggles to do so, especially when they involve her survivor's guilt.
Genji Shimada / Genji:
Genji used to have several bad habits he's learned to stop over the years, like playing games in his bed, eating unhealthy food too much, smoking probably at one point or another. But he still cant shake the bad habit of skipping training sometimes because he can't be bothered. If he's not in the mood, there's no way he's gonna be seen in the gym strength and ability training unless Brigitte drags him there.
Reinhardt Wilhelm / Reinhardt:
Reinhardt has a tendency to overdramatise everything; from his speech to his stories. This applies too to his emotions, and he feels them too close to his heart as though his skin was made of paper. He struggles with his ability to regulate his emotions, and it's something he's aware of but views it as something positive, rather than negative. He wouldn't admit that it's his worst habit, but everyone around him would.
Brigitte Lindholm / Brigitte:
Brigitte takes care of herself very well; she views the human body as a machine that needs rest, supplements, nutrition, etc. But her worst habit is remembering to drink when she's working on something or busy with a mission. The amount of times Angela has had to admit her for dehydration isn't even funny, and Reinhardt is always getting yelled at by Torbjorn for 'letting it happen to her'. It's one of those things where when Brigitte is focused on something, she forgets everything else going on.
Angela Ziegler / Mercy:
Angela has a very bad problem with doomscrolling online. Once she starts, she cant stop even when she gets ads telling her to take a break. She doesn't necessarily enjoy it, and it keeps her up late into the night, but it's a distraction for her from everything going on in the world. Don't ask to see her app usage history; it'll entirely be instagram reels and tiktok with like 9hrs a day average usage.
Echo:
Sometimes, Echo fails to match her responses to the mood of the situation. She tends to take a direct and neutral stance on everything, so her worst habit is that sometimes she comes off as though she's playing devil's advocate, when she isn't. She's just simply showing all aspects that the person she's talking to might not have considered. She's a very logical being, but the way in which she does this sometimes comes off negatively on other people.
Vivian Chase / Sojourn:
With Vivian, I can imagine she has a bad habit of getting stuck in nostalgic loops. She likes to look back on the past, understand what happened and what went wrong, but if she lets herself do it too much or for too long, she lingers on her mistakes and it affects her mentally. Similarly to Mei, she feels survivors guilt and feels ashamed for the events in Canada that happened to her sister and niece years ago. Vivian loves a blast from the past, but struggles to regulate how far back to go and how much to think about it.
Lúcio Correia dos Santos / Lucio:
Lucio has a very bad habit of staying up too late, working on music or plans for the next day, to the point where he misses sleep and is extremely groggy in the morning. It's something he gets distracted with and loses track of time with. It doesn't help either that he has time blindness and gets lost in the music.
Cole Cassidy / Cassidy:
Smoking is his worst habit; everyone working in Overwatch will tell you that. He refuses to try vaping, and prefers cigars to anything else. His cough is disgusting at times, and he has nicotine rush every morning after his first cigar, which makes it hard for anyone to talk to him and get a response from him properly. It's something he has no intention of stopping, as he's here to live a good life not a long one, but everyone has an issue with it when he smokes around them because his favourite brand absolutely reeks.
Fareeha Amari / Pharah:
Fareeha holds grudges too long; she struggles with forgiveness and moving forwards. She won't admit it, but it's something that affects her relationship to her family and previous friends. If she's wronged as well, it only takes that one moment for her to give up emotionally and mentally on that friendship. It's not rational, and she understands that, but it's something she views as another form of protection, like armour against people who could hurt her or abandon her.
Jean-Baptiste Augustin / Baptiste:
Baptiste is a bad influence when it comes to drinking and has a bad habit of not knowing his own limit. To this day, he still wonders how he's the first one to be absolutely drunk when everyone else around him is barely tipsy (even after he's had 3 shots one after another of fireball on an empty stomach). He indulges in it too much and he doesn't know his own limit to drinking, so you can imagine Cole and Angela have had to comfort him while his head's in the toilet bowl.
Aleksandra Zaryanova / Zarya:
Zarya has a tendency to give everyone grace and understanding, even when they don't deserve it. She gives people too many chances, and too many opportunities to use her. It's something she's working on, but she views the world in a more positive light than others and wants to keep the optimism she has for other people.
Hana Song / D.Va:
Hana has been told for years she holds herself to too high standards with her work and efforts in Overwatch, and she works herself to the bone. It's something she doesn't view as wrong, but it impacts her body and mind SEVERELY. Angela and Brigitte have had several conversations about taking breaks and not pushing herself too hard with staying up late for work, skipping meals, exhausting herself on missions, etc. It's her worst habit and even she would agree, but she doesn't intend to change it when it gives her the results they need.
Bastion:
Bastion's worst habit is getting distracted easily; he's like a kid in a candy shop sometimes with the places Overwatch takes him, and he loves to show Ganymede everything he finds and take them places he enjoyed. It's bothersome sometimes, especially if he's nowhere to be found on a mission because he's busy showing Ganymede the other birds near their temporary station. It is what it is though, and seeing Bastion happy and on their side is something they appreciate.
Vivian cursed the adrenaline that coursed through her veins when she saw you. She had been away for nearly a week, and that was six nights forced away from you. Sleep had eluded her for most of that time, and on the rare occasion she had been able to fall asleep, it was restless. You had made her soft and spoiled her to the point where she couldn't fall asleep without you anymore.
All Vivian wanted to do was curl up in bed with you, but she knew better. Her body was restless and wanted to do something. It was early, too early for you to be woken up by her. Vivian stood by the door and watched you sleep for a few more moments before she decided to just go downstairs. It was risky to wait there for you, she would have felt too bad if she had accidentally woken you up.
Your sleep was precious to you. It came with great difficulty, a number of things seemed to always be eating at your brain. Vivian knew a handful of the things you had been through. Your time in Blackwatch hadn't been easy, and then whatever you did with Emre before he joined Talon weighed heavily on your conscious. Something had led him there, and Vivian was certain that whatever did that had pushed you back into her arms.
Time seemed to move slower as Vivian watched the clock. You were a woman of routine, so she knew exactly when to expect you out of bed. Every single morning for the past decade you had walked out of the bedroom at the exact same time, always five minute after your alarm initially went off. Vivian could hear your footsteps shuffling out of the bedroom as she walked back in, coffee and breakfast sandwiches in hand.
"Viv, you're back," you mumbled, the small upturn in your lip still somehow evident despite the sleep still heavy in your voice. Vivian had never really been one for nicknames, but she had never been Vivian or even Sojourn when it came to you. It was always either "Viv" or occasionally "Chase" if you were mad at her that day.
"I had a good team, one that wanted to see me back here with you." Vivian pulled you into her arms. She was mindful of not crushing you, always careful despite the knowledge that you were as tough as they came. Years away from combat had softened you up a bit, but Vivian knew that if push ever came to shove you would be ready for anything.
"Is that coffee for me?" you asked hopefully. Vivian nodded as she let you go just enough for you to grab your coffee. You settled back in her arms with the cup in your hand. There was a warmth that spread through your body as you took your first sip, one that had nothing to do with the warm beverage. That feeling was all from Vivian, something that you had become increasingly familiar with over the years.
Breakfast went by quickly, despite your day being completely empty. You didn't mean to rush through the meal, but it was only a matter of time before Vivian became your brain's entire focus. Each time that she left, your body counted the hours until she was by your side again. Overwatch's missions were still dangerous, and while you trusted Vivian, you weren't sure that you trusted all of her teammates. There were a lot of new faces, ones that you didn't know.
"If I wasn't about ready to pass out, I'd be upset that you're thinking so hard right now," Vivian mumbled. You were surprised that she wasn't asleep yet. The two of you had went right back upstairs after breakfast. A day spent in bed had never been your thing, but it was practically tradition for you to stay by Vivian's side as she caught up on her rest. "Talk to me."
"You can't order me around anymore," you joked. Vivian's fingers brushed over your cheekbones as she cradled your face. If you cared to hold your thoughts back, you would have cursed the way she got you to open up instantly. "I don't know the people who keep you safe. It's not the same as before, the faces are different. I know Torb's daughter is there and Angela finally came back, but I miss when it was Ana or Gabe or Emre. I'm scared that one day, the new team won't be enough."
"Not everyone is a familiar face, but maybe that's for the better. Overwatch isn't the same as it used to be. We're learning from our mistakes before. They're going to make sure I come back to you, I promise." Vivian's words sparked a bit of relief deep in your chest. The worry wasn't completely gone because until she retired it never would be, but for a moment you didn't feel so hopeless. You trusted Vivian enough to believe she'd always want to come back to you.
You brought your hand up to grab her wrist, fingers curled gently around the prosthetics. Her touch with them was all you had ever known. There was warmth in her skin like with yours, even if it was different, but all you knew was that it was Vivian's. Your eyes closed as you leaned in. Vivian moved quicker than you had to close the distance between your lips. The taste of coffee and her favorite croissant from the shop were fresh on her tongue, and you melted into the kiss you had been waiting for since Vivian walked out of your apartment a whole week ago.
"I really do need to-," Vivian turned her head away as she yawned, "-try to get some rest."
"I bet that you do. Come on, I'll keep watch like old times," you joked. Vivian rolled her eyes at the comment. She had always been the one to cover for you when you fell asleep during your watches. Why they ever continued to put you on watch duty after the first few times you fell asleep was beyond her, but she wouldn't have traded those nights looking over you for anything, not even the lost hours of sleep.
Halloween Costumes: DPS Girls Headcanons (SFW)
As Halloween approaches, I'll be writing more about it with the ovw characters. So, this post is about what the DPS girls would want to dress up as for Halloween (if they did at least). It's under the cut, enjoy!
Elizabeth Caledonia / Ashe:
I can honestly imagine she likes to dress up, but not for the reason of trick or treating. For her, she likes to use Halloween as an excuse to dress up in a disguise on a robbery with her gang. So, some of her favourites in the past were of a saloon girl (she hated the dress but it worked well for seducing her way into the bank she planned to rob from) and as poison ivy from dc (she used it as a way to blend into the crowd of a Halloween carnival, making it perfect to escape from the police).
Mei Ling Zhou:
Mei always likes to use Halloween as a bonding experience, enjoying co-ordinating her outfits with close friends and work colleagues such as Lena and Brigitte. So, some of her favourites were as a pirate (Lena was a parrot, with Brigitte as a wench) and as Velma from scooby doo (Brigitte was Scooby and Lena was Scrappy-doo, with other members taking the other main characters).
Fareeha Amari / Pharah:
Fareeha used to despise Halloween as a child because she used to see families together, dressing up and taking their kids out to trick or treat, when she couldn't have the same experience. But, she's grown more light-hearted about it, especially dressing up for themed parties such as ‘hear me out’ costumes (dress up as your biggest hear me out character), and ‘sexual awakening’ costumes (dress up as your sexual awakening character). She doesn't have a favourite, but loves costumes that aren't serious and look poorly made, just because of how much more humorous they are to her.
Vivian Chase / Sojourn:
You can't tell me that Vivian doesn't do trick or treating with her sister and niece every year - you know fine and well that Vivian's letting her niece pick the group costume each year, and following along with her ideas to make sure that she has the most enjoyable year possible. Vivian loves to let her take control and holds back her distaste for the costumes she picks, purely because she loves the family time she can have with them more so than the dressing up part. Her favourite group costumes that she's done, though, are Alice in Wonderland (Vivian and her sister were the card guards, with her niece being the Queen of Hearts), Cat in the Hat (Vivian and her sister were thing 1 and thing 2, with her niece being the cat), and Little Red Riding Hood (her niece was the grandma, her sister was little red, and she was the wolf). All in all, though, any Halloween costume will be her favourite if she knows her family had fun.
Olivia Colomar / Sombra:
Honestly, I can't imagine Olivia's really been able to enjoy Halloween in her life, and doesn't have much interest in it in general. However, she does like to do group costumes with Amelie and Moira when going to clubs or bars, but only silly ones (similar to Fareeha). She'd definitely love to dress up as final girls from horror movies, animated movie characters (i.e. shrek, megamind, etc). If she can find humour in it, she loves it especially with her friends.
Amelie Lacroix / Widowmaker:
Amelie used to do couples costumes with Gerald, finding it a genuinely fun time with him. So, now that he's passed away and gone from her life, it took her a while to warm up to the idea of dressing up again for Halloween. With the help of Moira and Olivia, she's found herself warming up to it but doesn't have specific preferences. She likes ones that are more clever than funny, though, but will go with what her friends would like to do (to an extent - if she hates an idea, she'll tell them of course). All in all, she can be picky but has good intentions, wanting to make sure that she and her friends are enjoying themselves wherever the night finds them. She doesn't have any pictures of her favourite costumes, though, because she'd rather keep them in place in her mind.
Lena Oxton / Tracer:
Lena will always do costumes with her friends and take their family members with her trick or treating - Halloween is one of her favourite holidays in my opinion, and she loves to go all out for it. For example, with Brigitte and her family, she'll often accompany them and show just as much enthusiasm as the little sisters and brothers have for the events that night. Her favourite costumes are simple ones, ones she can wear and have fun with her friends in - whether that's cheap, silly or serious ones, she's happy and enjoying herself.
It's finally arrived; each of the OVW DPS girls have plans to attend a concert, but who would they each go see? These are my personal headcanons (SFW)!

Elizabeth Caledonia "Calamity" / Ashe:
Ashe is the type of girl who would do anything and drop however much she could to see Ella Langley, Riley Green, and Johnny Cash tribute acts. She loves the idea of cowboys and the wild west, and loves country music alongside it. Neil Young is another she appreciates and would do anything to see as well, for the nostalgia of course.
Echo:
Echo's not the type to fixate on music, and enjoys vicariously through concert videos online. However, if she was to go see someone, it would be an artist who she knows the people she's going with enjoy as well. She values the importance of music, but there isn't a specific artist I can imagine her being into enough to go see them live.
Mei-Ling Zhou / Mei:
Mei's mostly interested in classical music; it helps her to focus as background noise or relax when she's had a stressful week. I can imagine she'd go to concerts in opera halls for classical music iterations and sit there, silently enjoying herself. However, I think she'd pay to see artists such as Iron & Wine, Bon Iver, and other indie folk musicians. Indie folk is one of those guilty pleasures that helps her focus in the same ways as classical but has substance beyond instruments. She values it and would enjoy herself (as long as she had someone to come with her ofc).
Fareeha Amari / Pharah:
She'll tell you if the conversation ever came up that she would pay anything to go back in time and see Queen live. She absolutely adores them, but tribute acts to her never do them justice. That's who I think Pharah would go to see if she could live. However, Fareeha also loves classic rock as a genre and would do anything to see AC/DC, Guns N' Roses, etc. She would go solo or with other people, she's not too bothered and she knows how to protect herself if anything happened. All she's interested in is hearing the music through her feet and enjoying it live, seeing everyone around her and embracing the rock culture.
Vivian Chase / Sojourn:
Sojourn's a fan of classical jazz; she loves to sit with a whiskey on the rocks, in a dingy bar and enjoy the music so she doesn't tend to go to concerts as much as she used to. However, when she was younger and in Overwatch as it's lead commander, she used to always make an effort to try and see alternative rock artists like Imagine Dragons, Arctic Monkeys, and The Strokes. Whenever she listens to them now, she gets thrown into the past and wouldn't refuse a ticket to see them for old time's sake.
Olivia Colomar / Sombra:
She definitely enjoys EDM and goes to raves moreso than concerts; she enjoys club culture and has been known to indulge in everything about them. She was first exposed to The Prodigy, and her love for EDM kept growing from there. The Prodigy, Deadmau5 and Skrillex would be the ones I could see her wanting to see the most live at a rave.
Satya Vaswani / Symmetra:
We know that Symmetra has a more eclectic side with her sashay emote, so one of the most obvious things I could think of her enjoying would be drag brunches moreso than a concert. She would love the feeling of the music through your body, the dancing, the interactions happening in front of her. I think she'd enjoy night performances in concert halls as well, especially with strobe lights and voguing; it would be autism heaven for her. However, I think she appreciates modern classical music that helps her unwind and relax, especially if she's overwhelmed or overstimulated with the work that she's trying to complete at tht moment. Artists such as RuPaul, Philip Glass, and Tycho would definitely be on her radar though (if she decided to go to a concert).
Lena Oxton / Tracer:
Tracer's got a very upbeat attitude, and it seems very likely she would enjoy pop artists, especially if she's struggling with things mentally or with guilt. It helps distract her, so she would definitely agree to see artists such as Chappel Roan, Lady Gaga, and Charli XCX. She enjoys being able to dance in the crowd to their music, screaming her heart out with whoever she's with or with total strangers. Alternatively, she used to heavily enjoy pop-rock artists such as Paramore, and would make an effort to see them when she could. It's still close to her heart, so I don't think she'd decline seeing them live still.
Amelie Lacroix / Widowmaker:
Widow's a fan of classical ballet music; it reminds her of a time she was herself, and it brings back the emotions she once felt to some degree. She would pay anything to see them performed live by an orchestra, or even during a ballet, just to be able to feel like a normal woman again. Widow would never decline to a concert that features music from the artists such as Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Felix Mendelssohn.

Elizabeth Caledonia “Calamity” / Ashe:
Ashe's the type to keep things groomed down there, often preferring to be completely shaven if she has the energy to. However, if she doesn't have the energy or doesn't mind the hair, it'll be shaven everywhere but her bikini lines. She keeps it well washed and groomed, but she prefers to have it completely shaven.
Mei-Ling Zhou:
When she was younger she would make an effort to shave, grooming her pubic hair into a cute little triangle, but now she doesn't have the energy or time to do so. She's too scared for waxes, and she doesn't care for methods that aren't based on renewable energy or resources, so she opts to trimming only. She takes care of it, and likes to keep it fresh still even if it's resembling a bush at times.
Fareeha Amari / Pharah:
Fareeha definitely takes pride in how she grooms herself, and her hygiene especially. Almost every shower for her is an everything shower, just with different fonts. She loves to find new ways to trim her pubic hair, and usually likes the landing strip style. Don't offer to take her for waxing or laser removal, though - she won't admit it, but she's terrified of the pain that those can cause.
Vivian Chase / Sojourn:
Vivian's classic and likes to keep hers waxed, bare, always opting for a Brazilian. She rarely grows pubic hair now, because she's been doing so since she was 20. It's something she likes to keep constant, even if she has no energy to do it that day she'll still force herself to go get a wax. The constant of knowing that it's coming up is comforting for her, and reminds her that she's still her even with her bionic limbs and body parts.
Olivia Colomar / Sombra:
Olivia's another who takes pride in her hair and how well groomed she is. It's something she's always taken the time to focus on when she's showering or if she's having a ‘self-care’ day. The idea of someone going down on her and being greeted with either an unpleasant smell, or hair that's tangled and unkept makes Olivia feel disgusted in herself, so she opts to trim the top parts, while completely shaving her labia. It's important for her to keep some hair, since it helps with friction during sex.
Satya Vaswani / Symmetra:
Because of the sensory feeling of shaving as a process, shaving foam or alternatives, the stubble that comes back after a while, Satya opts for laser hair removal when she can. Before, she used to just let it grow while keeping it clean, opting for more of a free landscape down there. Now, she finds that somewhat more overwhelming sensory wise sometimes so she went with laser hair removal for a while. It's not something she'll discuss freely, and doesn't care what her partner's hair is like either way as well as long as it's not unkept.
Lena Oxton / Tracer:
Lena definitely likes to grow her pubic hair out, and likes to try different techniques to surprise Emily when she goes down on her. It's fun for Lena, and she enjoys the simple nature of it. It's something only she and Emily get to enjoy and talk about, and she revels in that fact. However, her favourite way to trim her pubic hair is the landing strip (obviously). The minute she heard the name for it online, she had to try it for herself and she's loved it since.
Sloan Cameron / Venture (AFAB AU):
Sloan's the type of person that would like to keep it bare with some stubble, as it sometimes causes them gender dysphoria letting it grow out beyond stubble. It's important for Sloan to be comfortable, and if they don't have the time to shave, that's the only time you'll ever see hair that's beyond less than half an inch. It's something they've learned they prefer, and they're not as concerned with their body hair in terms of their gender as they used to be (back when they started their transition). For them, though, sometimes they like to grow it out and feel more masculine in that sense. Sure, no one else is seeing it besides their sexual partner(s), but it's for their sake.
Amelie Lacroix / Widowmaker:
Amelie was raised with the belief that it was dirty, it wasn't right to have hair, and it was something to be ashamed of. So, for years she would struggle with shaving and always keeping it bare because she believed this was the right way to go about things, to stay clean and tidy truly. However, now she doesn't care as much for it and likes to let it run wild. She'll clean her pubic hair, making sure there's no odour or tangled hairs, but she's not concerned with trimming or styling it. Amelie doesn't have the energy, and simply doesn't care to because she knows that if someone was going down on her, or seeing the hair, they'd be understanding of it and wouldn't mind.

100% would cry listening to ‘anything’ by Adrianna Lenker, especially Steve Fisher's cover. The softness of the guitar, the way the lyrics would feel inside her, it would bring back memories she wants to forget and move forwards from. The song's all about lost memories, longing and losing connections to people, which is something she knows all too well. She never lets anyone see her cry, but if you played this song in front of her, Elizabeth would bawl her eyes out like a baby.
Echo:
Although she can't cry, nor emulate that action, she does feel torn about certain songs and feels a difference inside herself that she equates to crying. One of those songs is ‘Dead Hearts’ by Stars. It's all about haunting memories and dealing with losing a loved one - something Echo can relate to deeply.
Mei-Ling Zhou:
A song I think Mei might feel emotional about or cry to is ‘The Night We Met’ by Lord Huron. The lyrics explores feelings of loss, with the desire to go back to better times with those people or things you lost. It's something Mei still struggles to cope with, and the song would make her feel seen, as though she wasn't alone throughout the struggle.
Fareeha Amari / Pharah:
Fareeha wouldn't admit this because she feels silly for crying over it, but she gets emotional over the song ‘Apple’ by Charli XCX. The discussions surrounding generational trauma, broken relationships with mothers, and wanting to escape it all is something that rings true for her, and it's something that can be hard for her to cope with at times. Apple's upbeat, and she finds enjoyment in it's light-hearted nature, but if she focuses on the lyrics (especially the line “I guess the apple don't fall far from the tree. 'Cause I've been looking at you so long now I only see me”) she swells up. With her joining Overwatch, just as her mother did before, it hits even harder and closer to home.
Vivian Chase / Sojourn:
‘Hurt’, covered by Johnny Cash but originally made by Nine Inch Nails is a song that Vivian's banned from all playlists she's got a say in, and it's because the themes of it hit too close to home. She listened to it a lot during her time in Overwatch, especially after the first few missions where she lost co-workers and fellow fighters to the omnic crisis. The song explores themes of regret, pain and the passage of time, so it's something that Vivian feels too closely to her heart. The song also reminds her of what happened to her sister and niece, and makes her feel both seen and isolated in her emotions.
Olivia Colomar / Sombra:
For Olivia, she's rarely moved by music in the sense that she cries. It's not something she feels personally affected by, usually, even when the lyrics come scarily close to her lived experiences. However, one that would cause her eyes to water even a little is ‘Last Minute’ by Kitty. It's a song that explored wanting a genuine connection, with toxic relationships lingering over. The way the lyrics explore being trapped but having your own unhealthy tendencies is something Olivia feels is close to her own struggles. She finds the song soothing, as though it's comforting her and telling her she's not alone. That feeling alone is enough to make Olivia cry.
Satya Vaswani / Symmetra:
I think Satya would find ‘Sea, Swallow Me’ by Cocteau Twins a song that makes her emotional and cry - even though theres no confirmed lyrics, it's up to interpretation and she would find the eeriness of the vocals, the sense of melancholy and fragility the instrumentals create and the overal vibe of vulnerability soothing to her mind. It's something she never expected to feel, and appreciates the song for evoking an emotional response from her in the first place.
Lena Oxton / Tracer:
Lena's always struggled with the feeling like you don't belong, wanting to connect with others and instability; so the song ‘Duvet’ by BOA would elicit an emotional response from her. The instrumentals, the lyrics themselves, they all resonate with the way that goes on in her mind, including the guilt she feels for the death of Mondatta. It's a song that rings true to her, as though it came from her heart, and she can't listen to it without thinking of these things and feeling seen.
Amelie Lacroix / Widowmaker:
As Amelie explores her emotions, and encourages herself to explore what those emotions mean, that comes with the feeling of crying being reintroduced all over again. It's something she's still struggling to regulate, with music often making an impact on how well she copes with it. One song in particular is ‘This Night Has Opened My Eyes’ by The Smiths. Olivia had recommended it to her, as she was looking for more moody songs to explore her reactions to them, but didn't expect for the lyrics to feel like they're speaking to her. The lines that make her feel the most emotional are;
“You kicked and cried like a bullied child - a grown man of 25” because it reminds her of her initial reactions to Blackwatch's experiments on her, and how hard she fought against them. It reminds her of how powerless she was, even though she was a grown married woman. She often blames herself, and that lyric especially hit close to home.
“Oh he said he'd cure your ills, but he didn't and he never will.” because it reminds her of what Moira has said during treatments. When she heard that line and processed what it meant, she had a visceral and quick response as though it triggered something inside it. It quite literally opened her eyes to what happened, and made her feel seen and yet powerless all the more.

Fareeha likes to switch, her preference changes like the weather honestly. She's down to try anything once, and has a kink for public sex. She's not too fussed, but if she had to choose one or the other, she'd choose dominating more often. Fareeha just likes sex and wants to explore as many kinks as she can at least once so that they're off her mind and she knows if she likes them or not.
Vivian Chase / Sojourn:
Vivian isn't the type to dominate - she's been a leader before and she's older, tired and wants to be able to casually enjoy sex without feeling like she's back in overwatch in control of everything. However, she will put up a good fight for dominance just to see how far her partner will go, how frustrated they get and how it reflects in the sex. Vivian likes to be a brat, and likes brat taming as a kink.
