(I saw your tags) all of the colors of the pride flag do have meanings!
Here’s the original pride flag colors and their meanings from https://gilbertbaker.com/rainblow-flag-color-meanings/ . The color pink was added in after the first flag but was later taken out due since the color was uncommon and hard to get. The turquoise was later taken out to even out the flag so it would have 6 unified colors! The Philadelphia pride flag, the one with black and brown at the top, added the colors to the top to highlight the issues that queer people of color face!
oh!! no i know exactly what the pride colors stand for (the philadelphia pride flag is my personal favorite<3) i think the post you're referring to albeit i may be wrong was the one making fun of the fact that tumblr has the gall to use to the toothpaste pride flag for #gay in the tags instead of gilbert baker's colors.
