oswald remained silent for a long moment, simply watching the man with the same measured gaze he once used on unruly baskerville retainers. he was not one to involve himself in foreign kingdoms’ affairs, let alone their eccentric nobility —— the internal politics of england were none of his concern, yet the longer he stood there, the harder it became to maintain his usual restraint. this was supposedly the feared “queen’s watchdog”? oswald was no fool: he could see the hidden blade beneath the facade, but at this point the man was going to put himself into the grave in the most embarrassing fashion.
“ you have been awake for nearly thirty-six hours, ” oswald said at last, his voice low and even, carrying that signature blunt calm, “ your focus is slipping. you need to rest! ”
